Unlike many other sniper rifles of that period, WA-2000 was not a conversion of the sporting or hunting rifle, but entirely new design with some remarkable features. The gun is built in the bullpup style, to achieve most compact package while maintaining suitably long barrels. Wa-2000 is a semiautomatic rifle, gas operated, with rotating bolt. This give the ability for quick follow-up shots if needed. The heavy, match barrel is fluted and free-floated. The stock and trigger are adjustable, the folding bipod is mounted on the special ramp above the barrel and could be moved forward and back to achieve maximum comfort on position. Overall, the WA-2000 was the very strong and accurate rifle, but unit price was too high and resulting sales were marginal, so it never entered full-scale production.
