1. Simon Edwards & Sally Dowden are the parents of Kinchen Edwards(1788 to 1851). The internet sources that say that Randolph Edwardsis the father are wrong. Randolph was Kinchen's brother.

In March 1848 Kinchen Edwards appeared before the Court of Pleasand Quarter Sessions of Edgecombe County to place a claim to receivea pension due his mother (when she was alive) as a widow of a RevolutionaryWar veteran. Source is Revolutionary War Pension File R3264, kindly given to me by Helen Sharpe. This file contains the following information:
Kinchen Edwards states that he is the son of Simon Edwards andSally Dowden, and that he is 60 years old (as of 1 MAR 1848).
Kinchen and his brothers Benjamin and Levi are the only surviving children.
