Located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, St Paul Original Free Will Baptist is a family oriented church that has been serving the lord for over 80 years.

Named after Paul Palmer, founder of the first Free Will Baptist church in North Carolina, St. Paul Original Free Will Baptist was founded in August 1921. At that time, the congregation was meeting at an old store building on Hughs Blvd. (Hwy. 17). One year later, in 1922, the church bought a piece of property on Parsonage Street, and constructed the first church building.

The church thrived on Parsonage St. for 2 years with only part time pastors. Finally, in 1924 the church received its first full time pastor as the church congregation continued to grow.

After 21 years on Parsonage St., the church moved locations in 1943 in an even trade with the Salvation Army Church. The church stayed at that location for 8 years until a need for a bigger, and more modern building was needed. In 1951, the need for an upgrade was fulfilled with the construction of a brand new building at 1020 Cedar Street. That location is where St. Paul Original Free Will Baptist Church resides today.

St. Paul Free Will Baptist is the only Free Will Baptist Church in the Elizabeth City area. The church congregation now has over 70 members and is continuing to grow in size and in spirit. With a devoted pastor and its family orientation, St. Paul Free Will Baptist is a great place of worship for any family or individual.
