As with all retrograde (Rx) planets it depends on where the retrograde planet is located (house) in your chart at the time it goes retrograde, and aspects to your natal planets, transiting planets, and progressed planets that the retrograde planet is making at the time and during the retrograde period. Venus goes retrograde every 18 months, and travels in retrograde motion for approximately 8-9 weeks. Venus rules Taurus and Libra and represents our need for harmony, beauty, money, our material possessions, pleasure, how we give and receive love and affection. And, Venus relates to our comfort and relationships. She also is interested in our values and self-esteem. As with any retrograde period, the planet is telling us to look deep within ourselves for our answers. To re-evaluate, re-lease, re-do, re-look at situations, re-talk things through. With Retrograde Venus, it is time to get in touch with issues that we have avoided in the past. It's a time to re-evaluate all of our relationships. It's not a time to break up a relationship, but to look for other solutions, at least until Venus goes direct. You may be sorry that you went to such extremes! Venus Retrograde cycles are not the time to begin or form lasting relationships. It's best to wait until after Venus goes direct again before committing yourself.
