 TO THE UNIQUE STARS OF THE UNIVERSE!
There are 12 signs in the zodiac, and everyone has all 12 signs in their personality as an individual. The following are how Sun signs express themselves. Regardless of which Sun sign you are looking at, they all have positive, and unfortunately, negative sides to them. You must remember that other factors in the chart are taken into consideration when we do an actual chart reading. The Sun sign, the Moon sign and the Ascendant are the 3 most important parts of a chart. The following is a basic explanation of the Sun signs, and how they express their energies.
ARIES
1.) Aries is always very energetic, courageous, enthusiastic, confident and quick-witted. They are assertive, and generally do things with a ‘head on' reaction. Aries has an impulsiveness to start things/projects, but show an impatience towards completion. They love to start things and they are good delegators, however, they are always looking for something new to begin. Very independent, quick tempered, they can be domineering, intolerant, with a little arrogance thrown in. They are the daredevils of the zodiac and always move with an urgency. Achievement is very important to them. Aries do have a tendency to be somewhat selfish, and they can become physically or psychologically ill if what they go after, doesn't turn into an actual realization. They generally have excellent leadership and executive characteristics. Aries is a fire sign and of the cardinal quality, their ruler is Mars, and Aries rules the anatomy of the head, face, brain, and upper teeth. Their key phrase is ‘I am', and their key word is, ‘activity'. Aries opposite Sun sign is Libra.
TAURUS
2.) The sign Taurus is very patient, stable, quite practical, loyal and dependable. They are also very stubborn, and somewhat materialistic. Emotional and material comfort is of extreme importance to them as they seek their security. Taurus individuals generally have a great deal of common sense, but lack flexibility. They hate change. This Sun sign is known for their persistent and determined personality, and, they're also known to be rather jealous and possessive of their loved ones. Although, rather slow in their actions, once a goal has been set, they will eventually reach their aspiration. Their shoulders are always broad, and their advice is on the practical side. Anger comes slowly with a Taurus, but when they do, it's like they're on a short fuse. They explode, and have a tendency to carry a resentment, and their anger for a long time. Taurus is an earth sign, and belongs to the fixed quality. Their ruler is Venus, and Taurus rules the throat, neck, ears, vocal cords, thyroid, tongue, mouth, tonsils and lower teeth. Their key phrase is ‘I have', and their key word is ‘stability'. Their opposite Sun sign is Scorpio.
GEMINI
3.) Gemini's are the most adaptable sign of the zodiac. They can adjust to almost any situation. They're versatile, communicative, and they always have a child-like quality, retaining their youth more so than the other signs. They're an active sign, but very restless mentally. It's important that Gemini's continuously seek intellectual pursuits throughout their lifetime. Take courses, reading, writing and learning. Their worse fault is: they know a little about many subjects, but sometimes fail to acquire deeper knowledge of topics that really interest them. It's very difficult for them to focus on only one thing. They are an intelligent sign, have very quick minds, they're inquisitive, but they can also be rather superficial. Geminians think with their mind and not through their heart. Now, Gemini's love to talk, and their thinking processes get so far ahead, they actually forget what they were talking about in the beginning of the conversation. Another fault of Gemini is that they love to finish sentences for other people. Most Gemini's are quite congenial, curious and expressive. They love to use their hands, be it in typing, writing, and even in talking, they can't seem to keep their hands still. The hands are always in constant motion and gestures. Gemini's make good leaders, because of their communication ability, but they actually don't like to hold executive positions, only because they don't like the responsibility. Another characteristic is traveling. Put a Gemini in a car, airplane, bus, train or boat, and they're in 7th heaven. Gemini is an air sign and of the mutable quality, their ruler is Mercury. Gemini rules the anatomy of the lungs, hands, arms, shoulders, and the nervous system. Their key phrase is ‘I think', and their key word is ‘versatility'. Gemini's opposite sign is Sagittarius.
CANCER
4.) Cancer's instincts and intuitions are very sensible and, if these attributes are used with logic, they can work through most problems with apparent ease. They're considered to be a very loving and protective sign, and, extremely emotional and sympathetic. And, for these reasons, they make good parents. Their imagination is strong, however, if not kept under control, their visualization can result in continuous worry, especially over their loved ones. The Cancer signs are in my personal opinion, the moodiest sign of the 3 water signs, ( Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer). One moment they are on top of the world, and for whatever reason, in the next moment they can instantly drop into a depression. They have an excellent memory, unfortunately, they often will relive past events, and forget the present. This sign loves to hoard, like a little pack rat, and, they are notorious for being untidy, only because everything they own has a sentimental value for them. They are very family oriented, and the need for security of a home and roots are vital to them. Once in a permanent relationship, they're committed to the end. Extremely sensitive, easily hurt, they will withdraw, and build a hard shell around themselves, becoming overly cautious, until they're sure it's safe to come out again. Cancer is a water sign and of the cardinal quality, their ruler is the Moon. Cancer rules the stomach, breasts, and upper parts of the liver. Their key phrase is ‘I feel' and their key word is ‘devotion'. Cancer's opposite sign is Capricorn.
LEO
5.) The personality of a Leo is very dynamic, dignified and proud! A reliable quality of a Leo is their organizational skills, they require control, not only in their professional, but also their personal lives. Other honorable aspects of Leos are self- assurance, broad-mindedness, and their generosity. This Sun sign can be very creative and optimistic, and they're a romantic at heart. There worse fault is: they always have a tendency to think that, "they know best." They have a stubborn streak that they often refuse to relax, once their minds are made up about someone or something. Leo's can't stand criticism, even if it's constructively offered. And, ridicule is something that will totally crush them. They are surprisingly sensitive and easily hurt. They love to be wined and dined, but it must be done in style! They are known to be the best dressed sign of the zodiac, because Leo in their childlike way, are quite vain. They simply glow like the Sun that rules them when they receive compliments and encouragement. Power and/or dominance can and often become a big problem for this sign. If these traits are allowed to become out of control in their personal and/or professional lives, they can become overbearing to a point where no one wants to be around them. Leo's make superb parents, because they can always see the potential in others, however, they can become overly enthusiastic, forcing their own interests, high standards, and eagerness onto others, including their children. They must learn that what makes them happy is not always best for others. Leo's make exceptional leaders, naturally ambitious, always leading their "troops" to victory. They absolutely deplore low standards or second-rate performance. Leo is a fire sign, and of the fixed quality, their ruler is the Sun, and Leo rules the anatomy of the heart, sides and upper back. VIRGO
6.) Virgos are the analyzers and worriers of the zodiac. They love to investigate, take things apart, put them together, then start taking it apart again! And, after all of this mental activity, they then worry if it's right or not! This sign is notorious for being ‘fuss budgets', very practical and with an abundence of perfectionism thrown in. They're highly critical of not only themselves, but also, unfortunately, of others. And, this can and does cause problems with their personal and professional relationships. They are considered the least marriageable of all the zodiac signs, only because their expectations of others are so high that no one can meet their high standards. Virgos are recognized for being hard working, and in general, they have a no-nonsense attitude. Like their Gemini cousins, they are ruled by Mercury, and communication is important to them. Most Virgos are quite talkative, however, they can become immersed in detail, and, forget the broader aspect of communicating. They detest untidiness and they need an orderly environment. They are health enthusiasts, and will excel in nutrition and/or the health fields. Virgo is an earth sign, and of the mutable quality, their ruler is Mercury, and Virgo rules the anatomy of the intestines, liver, pancreas, gall bladder, lower plexus, and upper bowel. Their key phrase is ‘I analyze' and their key word is ‘practicality'. Virgo's opposite sign is Pisces.
Libra
7.) Libra's represent balance and harmony. It's essential for them to live and work in a non-pressurizing environment. They will very often sacrifice their own feelings, thoughts and ideas to maintain peace with others. Libra is the sign of companionship, they function best when working with other people. When confronted with a problem or difficulty, they do have a tendency to take a "back seat" rather than argue. However, they will fight for justice or the less fortunate. They are generally quite sociable, cooperative and persuasive when the need arises. They won't take sides in arguments, only because they are fearful of hurting other's feelings. In other words, this sign will support peace at any price. Their biggest downfall is their indecisiveness. They will pick out a blouse to wear, and then spend an hour choosing a skirt to match the blouse! This sign just cannot make their mind up about anything, it's much easier to allow others to take control. Libras love to pout, and I might add, that most of them do it well. This sign is considered to be one of the most creative signs of the zodiac. They like luxury and a comfortable lifestyle, so they do need the type of employment to support them well. They will work at almost any job as long as they are allowed to work at their own pace. Libras are also known as a generous sign, but this generosity can often turn into a "bribe" to maintain peace with friends, family and loved ones. It has been known that Libras are peace-loving, however, due to insecurity, they can and do, provoke arguments with friends and family, only to reassure themselves that their loved ones affections and devotion are sincere, and that they are indeed loved. This sign is are not into exercise, although, they really should not dismiss some form of activity. Their ruling sign, Venus, gives them the desire for rich, sweet foods. And, we all know that eating foods high in calories and without exercise that the end result is generally weight gain. Libra is an air sign, and of the cardinal quality, their ruler is Venus, and Libra rules the anatomy of the kidneys, lower back, adrenal glands and the appendix. Their key phrase is ‘I balance', and their key word is ‘harmony'. Libra's opposite sign is Aries.
SCORPIO
8.) Scorpio's are considered to be a hardy and forceful sign, only because they have an exceptional ability to not only express, but to reserve their energies. When you look into a Scorpio's eyes, you will see a very penetrating and probing gaze. This sign thrives under pressure, and due to this special proficiency, they make outstanding executives and leaders. Scorpio's, are much like their opposite sign Taurus. Both have a deep need for emotional and financial security. They're always trying to improve on their standard of living. They're known for their capability of deep, analytical thought processes, which allows them to investigate anything mysterious and get to the bottom of any problem or situation. Scorpio's can be exciting and magnetic, determined, intense, highly emotional and intuitive. They're also extremely secretive, and, have a tendency to bury their feelings. When this happens, they become quiet, withdrawn, and reject everyone and everything, dropping into the nether-nether land of depression. Scorpio's can be impulsive, and one of their character traits is their strong feelings of jealousy. They're exceedingly active because they want to get everything out of life that they can. So, they squeeze as much work and other interesting activities as they can into each day. If a Scorpio doesn't distribute his/her intense energy in physical exercise and productive activities, the powerful emotions can be expressed in a violative, sarcastic and suspicious nature. Scorpio is a water sign and of the fixed quality, their ruler is Pluto, and Scorpio rules the anatomy of the genitals, bladder, rectum, and reproductive organs. Their key phrase is ‘I desire' and they key word is ‘intensity'. Scorpio's opposite sign is Taurus.
SAGITTARIUS
9.) Sagittarian's are known for their love of freedom and independence. They're sometimes called the bachelors/bachelorettes of the zodiac. They won't tolerate any type of restriction in either professional or their personal life, because they have a spirit for adventure and the need for a constant challenge. They're quite optimistic and they also have an abundance of good-humor, although, some Sagittarians do have difficulty with boisterousness. They enjoy starting new projects, but small details bore them, because they're always looking toward the future and aiming their arrow at a new and more challenging target much like an Aries. This Sun sign is honest and straight forward in their communication with others. But, they're also blunt and to the point, often times, forgetting that tactfulness will cultivate relationships that are more meaningful and pleasant. Jupiter, the ruling planet of Sagittarius, is a Guardian Angel and brings this sign good luck and opportunities. They may be down and out, spinning on their last dime, so to speak, and out of the blue sky, something or someone will give an assisting hand or pick them up and set them on a straight path, again. Sagittarian's love to learn about themselves and others, and they seek knowledge throughout their lives. This charming and enthusiastic sign has a tendency to overdo everything, be it eating, drinking, partying, falling in love, falling out of love, learning, talking, and so on. They simply enjoy life, but often don't realize that there's a limit to all good things. They need a partner whose intelligence matches their own, and someone who will be friends with them as well as lovers. When Sagittarians are unhappy, discontentment follows, and they will attempt escape in one form or another, and this should be avoided at all costs. And, as we all know, or have learned through experience, that physically running away from our problems is not a long-term solution. This Sun sign is the philosopher of the zodiac and most Sagittarians have a spiritual nature. Sagittarians are a mutable sign and of the fire element, their key phrase is ‘I understand' and their key word is ‘visualization'. Sagittarius rules the anatomy of the hips, thighs and upper legs. The opposite sign of Sagittarius is Gemini.
CAPRICORN
10.) This Sun sign is one of the most serious, ambitious, and practical signs in the zodiac. They always seem to want "to do the right thing". Although, Capricorns aren't known for a good, outgoing sense of humor, they do have a very endearing, "dry" sense of humor. And, it comes out at the most unusal times. Others are laughing at what or how something was said, and our Capricorn friend is looking at them as if to say, "what is so funny?" They're very hard working, conscientious and patient. Capricorns have a low emotional level and it's quite hard for them to show their true feelings. They take their responsibilities seriously and with a perfectionist attitude, rather it's in their personal or their professional career. The latter to success is of the upmost importance to a Capricorn, and if steadly climbed, essentially anything is achievable for them. Capricorns can show a streak of stubborness in their personality, and in general, if something doesn't go the way it should, or the way they think it should, they can become somewhat sulky, and they don't forgive easily. One character trait of Capricorns is their self-confidence vacillates from one moment to the next. In one area of their life, they're very confident. However, in another area of their life they may lose their confidence, and become inhibited and unsure of themselves. Many Capricorns have careers that require sitting at a desk for long periods of time. They need to take time out for long walks and exercise so that their joints and knees don't "stiffen" up or become arthritic. Pessimism can occasionally become a problem, even from minor setbacks, and when this happens, depression can easily overpower them. Capricorns, because of their seriousness, their natural disposition for responsibility, and their eagerness for their children's success, have a tendency to be rather heavy handed or strict in their disciplinary actions with their children. This doesn't mean that Capricorns are cruel or that they don't love their children. Far from it. They just need to remember to take time out of their busy lives to spend time with their loved ones and to occasionally throw in a spontanious hug. Capricorns are of the cardinal quality and their element is earth. Their key phrase is ‘I use' and their key word is ‘ambition'. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and rules the anatomy of the knees and lower legs. Their opposite sign is Cancer.
AQUARIUS
11.) This Sun sign is intensely unique. Friendly, honest, independant, loyal, original in their thinking. Then, throw in unpredictable, unemotional, and detachment, and you have it all in a nut shell! Aquarians have a natural desire to help, and they're considered the humanitarians of all of the 12 Sun signs. They always approach difficulties and problems with a logical and detached attitude. (Do any of you remember Mr. Spock from Star Track? He had to be an Aquarian!) I have never known an Aquarian to let life or circumstances hinder them.They're always filled with hope and most generally see the good side to most every situation. I once had a very good Aquarian friend who told me, "If you have a negative situation happening in your life, turn it around, and make it a positive event." What better way to look at life! Although, this Sun Sign is known for their friendliness, they also require a certain amount of privacy, and they don't like to have that quiet time invaded. Aquarians hate to be tied down, mainly because of their natural desire and need for their own independence. They do have a romanic streak, and once in a permanant relationship, they are very loyal to their partners. Their way of thinking is very unique, and they love everything that deals with progression and inventive methods. The more eccentric their friends are, the more they love them. Aquarians can be fairly obstinate, temperamental, and fixed in their opinions once they've make their minds up about something. Aquarians are of the fixed quality, and their element is air. Their ruler is Uranus and their Key phrase is ‘I know' and their key word is ‘imagination'. Aquarius rules the ankles. Their opposite sign is Leo.
PISCES
12.) Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, but never the least. Pisces, ruled by Neptune is very sensitive, sympathetic, intuitive, compassionate, and kind. Their emotions are so close to the surface, that even a trivial disagreement can precipitate a monsterous explosion, leaving this very sensitive sign ill for days, after everyone else has forgotten what the fuss was all about. Very much like their Cancer cousin, their moods oscillate back and forth. It's exceptionally difficult for the Pisces individual to face the hard truth of reality. Their imagination often fills their minds, magnifing small, inconsequential problems into gigantic, overwhelming dilemmas. Pisces have a tendency to wear rose-colored glasses, or not to see situations as they really are. It's difficult for this sign to always be honest and to tell the truth, only because they are so afraid that they're going to hurt the feelings of others. They're highly emotional and they'll sacrifice themselves, and deny their own needs and desires. Pisceans are loyal parents, always putting their children first, seeing to their needs, and helping the child to develop their potentual to the fullest. But, this sign can also be vague and too easy going for the child's own good. They often become excellent actors, not only because Neptune rules movies, videos, cameras and the like, but also because Pisces can conceal their own personalities and insecurities behind the characters of those who they portray. They also, if the rest of the chart supports it, make excellent nurses or social workers, because of their sensitivity, compassion and caring personality. Caring is one of this signs strongest characteristics. They are not leaders but followers. Their confidence requires constant bolstering, encouragement and praise. This water sign is immensely influenced by their envirornment that surrounds them. And, much like a sponge, they consequentially soak up all vibrations, rather it's world disaster, rainy depressing weather, or other people's unkind words. This can send them into a depressed state that will actually affect their mental and physical health. This sign needs to be aware that they can and do escape into a dream world where reality is pushed aside. Neptune as their ruling planet, regulates alcohol, drugs, dreams, diseases that are hard to diagnose, eccentricities, and, escapism in any form. In essence, they need to be cautious when using drugs in any form, including the drug alcohol, especially, when in a depressed mood. This sign is known to have psychic abilities. Some more developed than others. And, more often then not, this capability is brought out through their dreams. Pisces is of the mutable quality, and they're of the water element. Their key phrase is ‘I believe' and their key word is ‘understanding'. Pisces rules the anatomy of the feet. And, their opposite side is Virgo.
Regardless of your Sun sign, (you will have some of the same characteristics of those who are the same Sun sign as you), but, you are very unique. Our natal charts are like a fingerprint, no two are the same. We are all different.
At the moment of our birth, the planets are stationed in the sky. And, through the reading of the planets and the aspects between them, we discover our own uniqueness, and why we are the way we are. We all have free-will, so we can follow the energies of the planets to make life a little easier, or we can fight these energies and continue our life the way it is. The natal birth chart is only a guideline for us to follow and it is up to us which path we take!
Please remember that when you are reading the Sun sign characteristics it is only a very small part of the entire chart. The Sun is considered a star and not a planet.
