Brett was an actor working in theatre until Amanda Winn Lee from ADV Films got him into the idea of doing voice-overs for their anime distribution company. Since then, he's done the lead role of Carrot in SORCERER HUNTERS, Tora in USHIO & TORA, Gai in NADESICO, and various others.

• HOW DID YOU FIRST GET INVOLVED IN VOICE-ACTING?
  I was doing children's theatre with Amanda Winn and she started doing voice-overs before me and told me that I should really get into this. So, I went and did an audition with Matt Greenfield and he had me start working and I've been doing it ever since.
  
  
• WHY DO YOU THINK A CHARACTER LIKE CARROT CONTINUES TO CHASE GIRLS WHEN HE'S ALREADY GOT 2 CUTE GIRLS CHASING HIM?
  Well, it's always the thrill of the chase for him. But, I think he's totally insane! If I could have those two then I wouldn't need anybody else. At this point in the story though, it seems to me he's not really in love with a woman who has to beat the crap out of him to get him to notice her. The other one acts like he doesn't really know her feelings for him. Chocolate is over the top and Tira is a little more laid back about it, and that's just the way Japanese do it to.
  
  
• WHAT'S IT LIKE PORTRAYING A CREATURE LIKE TORA?
  Bliss! I love that character! It's so freeing because I've got to bring in my low voice. That low, evil character, and I've been waiting to do that voice for sooo long, and it was great to finally get to do it.
  
  
• DID YOU ENJOY DOING JEFFREY IN SLAYERS-DRAGON SLAVE? YOU SEEMED TO GIVE HIM A JERRY LEWIS KIND OF FEEL.
  Ya. I've gotta admit. I'm a Jerry Lewis fanatic! You watch some of his stuff and you think it's so stupid, but the quality of the way he does the characters is his 'thing'. Every actor has their own thing and it seems my thing is doing Jerry Lewis. Everybody likes it because the falls and everything are just so Jerry Lewis. Matt Greenfield couldn't stop laughing when I did my pratfall bit in SLAYERS.
  
  
• ARE THERE ANY OTHER CHARACTERS YOU'D LIKE TO PLAY IN THE FUTURE?
  I'd like to play more bad guys. I'd like to do more Tora. I don't know if that's gonna happen. We justify doing more. I'd also love to go back to doing Ruin Explorers too.
  
  
• WHAT DO A.D. VISION VOICE-ACTORS DO IN THEIR TIME OFF? DO THEY HANG OUT TOGETHER?
  Nope. Jessica Calvello and I will probably hanging out some though. We caused such a ruckus at this con. If this were a school, we'd have been seperated long ago because we caused so much trouble. We heckled the cosplay and the hentai festival. Everybody seemed to enjoy it so we kept doing it.
