Here some pics of my '93 S.
 

I bought this car in april 2001 in a Dutch village called Rijssen. As far as I know I'm the third owner of this black beauty.
I want to keep the car original. As you can see below only original assecoires for the 480 were added during the time it's my car. And if I use "non original" parts, then I mount them in a way I can bring back the car in it's original shape without any damage.
 
 

Original accesoires which were ordered by the first owner when the car came from the factory (Born, The Netherlands) back in 1993:
  • Half leather seats (official name: jacquar/leather)
  • Leather steering wheel (two spoke)
  • Airco
  • Turbo spoiler at the front of the car
 

Modifications till now:
  • Original (Volvo) 15 inch Taurus alloys (not on pics yet). The previous owner has put the 16 inch TSW alloys on the car. The tyres were 205/16/45... so not very comfortable. I replaced these alloys with the Taurus alloys and 195/15/55 tyres (Pirelli P6000).
  • White "signing lights" (in Dutch: knipperlichten)
  • White side markers (not an original Volvo part, I've kept the originals too).
  • Original Volvo-Momo leather steeringwheel (model PalmBeach, optional in 480). This wheel has great looks and drives much better then my previous steering wheel (see above).
  • Electrical original Volvo 480 antenna. My previous 480 had one and still after 2 year every time I forgot to pull out the antenna manually... so therefore I bought myself an electrical one.
  • Front fog lights (original Volvo 480).
  • Some ICE

Modifications to do:
  • Sticker registration plate at the front. I want to try to use an registration plate which is made of a sticker instead of the thick part of plastic (for example; you see them often at Jaguar E-types) I will inform if it can be done legally or else... I don't know.

My car is in an (almost) perfect shape. For example no rust at all, no problems with the wipers and a perfect running engine. The engine has regular maintenace with a good garage (not a Volvo dealer).

Trunk
Last year (2001) I had some problems with waterleakage in the back of the car... but I'm glad it's solved. Since november 2001 it's perfect dry inside my trunk.

Speedometer
Like most other 480 owners I had some problems with the speedometer too. The dealer couldn't repair it... but I had to pay them about € 240... so I never went back there!!
Finally I got it fixed for 20 € at a simple non brand garage! Since then it's working again and I came back to this garage for everything!
Okay... I miss about 8 thousand kilometers... that's no big deal!

Pop-up lights
At this moment the only thing which isn't working is the heating of the backwindow.
Last year (October 2002) my problems with the pop-up lights were solved. The left one wasn't coming up at all and the right one was coming up very slowly. I've bought two second hand complete pop-up lights... so the problems with the lights are solved for a small amount of money.

Only problem...
At this moment the only thing which isn't working is the heating of the backwindow. And don't be scared... it isn't working for about a year and a half right now... I think it will be fixed before this winter starts (winter 2003/2004).
