'I'm just an ordinary, same old nothing me. No, my eloquence is not quite what it used to be. "Say something funny or say something smart. Say something clever." I would if I only could, but you know I can't.' -Bic Runga
KIA ORA, YA'LL!
NEWS
First, let me say this--
SU POLLARD!!! SU POLLARD!!!
That's right, my favourite actress of screen and stage has her own web sight. Check it out by clicking the banner below! You've heard me wax poet for years about Su Pollard as Peggy Ollerenshaw on "Hi-De-Hi" (you remember my song I wrote in Orlando for the band Frame:313--"Su Pollard & The Sunday Paper")... Now you can find out more here! Thank you Rob, and THANK YOU SU!!! :)
It seems ages since I've updated my own homepage here. I've been busy working on other websites and the internet radio thing. Also, the whole Evil Badstar thing is taking off. Perhaps you'll find some writings, cyber-graffiti, other anarchy, under that moniker.
Oh, and I can be found in the cyber-realm on AOL-IM, Yahoo-IM, and Undernet under the name of 'EvilBadstar' (of course).
MUSIC
You can find my 3 stations going to http://www.live365.com and searching for the DJ names Nafa, ccxxii, and twotwentytoons.
Nafa and the Framus on Tim Master's couch, 1999; Tim and the Framus in the "I Got You" video, 1980.
Yer man opens his gift from his family and friends for his birthday, 1999--TIM FINN'S FRAMUS GUITAR from the Split Enz videos "Six Months In A Leaky Boat" and "I Got You"!!!! I have never, EVER, in my life been that duped! It really meant a lot because I grew up watching those Enz videos and I've basically been aware of that guitar's existance since I was about 12. I still get a queasy feeling evertime I am watching the old Enz videos and look over and see the Framus. And as of June 2001 I still haven't changed the Australian strings on it.
Speaking of Enz-related guitars, here's a view of Neil Finn's custom made guitar with the beautiful custom fretboard. Click here.
Midnight Bowlers League live 3/31/2000. Left to right are Chris, Tim, Mike (obscured), Nafa (with hair), and the Framus (to the very right of the picture). I left MBL in January 2001 and, damnit, if they aren't better than ever. They're even nice enough to let me sit in every once and again. Support this band--they rule! As for me, after a small hiatus from the music scene I am currently singing and playing guitar with a New Wave band called Louder Than Linda (no, I didn't name it, and yes, I would like to change it), with John, AJ, Buster, and Linda (thank you J-Dry!).
Most importantly, I've been working on the "glop-glop" (a term coined by Preston Poe). Thanks to Richard Glenn Scmidt (go to his amazing site here) I've been expanding my musical horizons, being able to exorcize the sounds in my head, and making some dope-ass tracks (beeeatch). (We're talking the sounds I wanted to make when I made "Shallow Cathedral" back in '89 for those of you with any memory.) Just call it Nexus and get that stinkin' hyperbole out of your mouth.
ART
And my art site is up. It's located here. And the name is now officially BAD5TAR.
That's all for now. Love and kisses,
-Badstar.
About Nafa. About The Three.
Interesting things.
