Welcome To 2 Spots
This is the home of our special dalmatians:
Magic & Lucky
Lucky is on the left and Magic is on the right. Lucky is a female that we took in on February 26, 2000. Magic is a male we have had since he was a puppy.
Birthdate: May 15, 1995
Magic was bought for our son Kyle in 1995 by my sister. At the time Kyle was only 2 years old and was really interested in fire trucks. My sister thought he needed a "fire dog." Magic was two months old when he was brought to us. Shortly after we had Magic we discovered he was deaf. Maybe a year or two went by and we discovered that he has bladder stones. At the time it all seemed coincidental because I had just read that mature male dalmatians can have this problem. So now he has special food and medicine to help him get through his day.
Birthdate: June 15, 1998
Lucky was brought to us because the owner has moving and could not keep her. We had tried another dalmatian previous to Lucky and it did not work out. The problem could have been that the other dog was also a male and just two years younger than Magic. Lucky's previous owner had talked to the animal control officer in our town to see if she knew of anybody that would be willing to take Lucky. The animal control officer pointed her to us because we already have a dalmatian and she knew we tried another one. Lucky's owner had contacted us and it took a week before we called her back. I really didn't want to put Magic in a bad situation again. Lucky came on Saturday February 26, 2000 and is still with us.
After only having Lucky for a day or two, we were wondering if she could hear as well. She was not responding to anything. I even banged two pans together and she still did not respond. After having Lucky a few days we took her to the vets just to make sure everything was ok. We found out that she had serious ear infections. Since finding out about the ear infections, we are not sure if she has been deaf since her birth or if the ear infections have caused her hearing loss. Despite the fact, she is a sweet little thing. She is small for a dalmatian. The reason is because she had puppies before she was a year old and the puppies of course used the nutrients she needed to continue to grow.
We finally finished the kennel for Magic & Lucky. The first weekend of May the dogs were able to run around and have their freedom. They just love it.
