PART TWO:
In the morning, I woke up with a scary thing on my mind. But I got over that. "Oh my gosh, I've overslept." I screamed. "What's the matter?" She asked. Bets was dressed for the day. "I overslept." I said. It was 11:00. "You did." She said. "I better get going, I have that appointment in two hours." I said. So I got back to the Bands to get ready for my appointment.
I drove my car to the hospital for my appointment. My family was there. "Are you going to be okay?" Daphne asked me while giving me a hug. I returned the hug with nervousness. "I'll be fine, nothing to it." I said. I was at the waiting room waiting patiently for my appointment.
The doctor's office was cold and somewhat quiet. People waiting for their appointments for their surgery and checkups. And the receptionist and secretaries doing their jobs in their separate rooms. They and the half the people who were here don't know but look at me. I was the only teen from Ohio that is here to let scientist and doctor's take the dream machine and see what I was dreaming.
Fred faced towards me. "You look like a mess." Fred said. "I overslept. That's all." I said. Daphne and Velma looked towards me and asked me a simple question. "Where did you sleep last night?" Velma asked me in a quiet voice. I thought Daphne told her where I was going to be that night. "I was at a friends house." I said while acting jumpy. "Cool down, everything's going to be okay." Access said. He sat next to me in his normal baggy jeans, somewhat dirty sneakers and white T-shirt. By the look of his face, he wasn't worried but a little scared about how the doctors going to diagnose me. He held my hand. "Don't worry everything's going to be fine." He said honestly. Thank goodness that I had friends that support me like they don't' want to let go even if they tell me something weird. "I sure hope so." I said.
It was one in the afternoon; I've waited an hour and a half. I was hungry, tired and bored. I've skimmed through every magazine in the entire room. All of them were boring to me. Until a doctor dressed in white pants, his uniform and black business shoes came into the waiting room and looked at his folder calling in a patient. "Journey Blake." He called out to the quiet room calmly. Access gave me a kiss for good luck. I nervously stood up and went with him, leaving my family behind.
"Where's your mother child?" He asked. He thinks that I'm nine or thirteen years of age because I was short. "You're misunderstood me by my height. I'm not a child, I'm an adult…anyways they're in Ohio. I came here to give a concert, see my friends and I'm staying with my cousins." I said. "Okay." He said.
A few minutes later, they had me dressed in a blue hospital gown and my head connected with the dream machine. It had a small video screen. It's connected to my head. "I've never seen anything like this." I said while looking around the O. R. "Okay we're going to give you something that'll knock you out." "I better get this done and over with." I said. While he got the anesthetic ready a doctor came in. "there is this patient wants to see you." He said so the doctor left. I think I want to do something before they go inside my dreams. "Can you please keep Miss Blake company." "Sure." He said.
Gosh darn it. I thought. I couldn't do much of anything but lay on the hospital bed. I couldn't move my head because of its connection to the dream machine. "But don't give her the anesthetic until I'm ready." He said. "Okay." That doctor left. "How are you doing today?" He said. I recognized the face. He was at that club. He looked like that person that drugged me. "Get away from me." It was definitely him. "You drugged me and made my nightmares come true." I said. "What can I say Miss Blake, you're my eyes. I'm going to haunt you forever." He said while touching my face. He was aiming the needle to my eyes and tried to close them up so I go blind. "DAPHNE! FREDDY! HELP ME!" I screamed. "They can't hear you." "You aren't' going to get away with this." The so-called doctor ran off. "Okay, that gave me the creeps. What's next?" I said to myself while trying to calm myself down. Two nurse like people came over to me.
"Don't worry Journey. Everything's going to be okay." one said. "How did you know my name?" I asked. I had a very scared look on my face with the needle right beside me. I was afraid to move. "We're your friends." One said while taking their masks like things off their faces. It was Veronica and Betty. "How did you know that I was here?" I asked. "Your screams that's what." Betty said with a smile on her face. "It was him it was him alright." I said while catching my breath.
"That guy that just ran away?" Veronica asked while turning her head, facing the door and turning back to me. "Yes. It was him alright." Only Bets and I knew what my dream was. "What's going on?" Veronica asked. She was confused. "One of her dreams came true actually it was a nightmare. She was at this club and someone chased her with a needle of some kind and drugged her. But her dream came into reality when she told me all about it being real and she fainted on my doorstep dazed and confused. I called 911 and she considers me a hero." Bet said. "I knew something going on at your house a few days ago. Where were you staying?" She asked. "My cousins with my friends and my sister." "It's great for you to be back… we better get out of here Betty." "See ya later." She said. "Bye and good luck." Both said while leaving me alone. "Thank you I'm going to get all the luck that I can get." I said to myself.
The first doctor came inside to check on me. "Are you okay?" "The doctor you assigned to keep an eye on me. He tired to make me go blind." I said. "Don't worry. We'll get you another anesthetic ready for you." So he did just that and other doctors came inside including the scientist who created the dream machine. It was a machine that tapes your dreams and diagnose you with something by looking at one tape of your dream. "Here comes the anesthetic. You are going to feel a little pressure." When the doctor gave me the anesthetic, I was calm and everything. Everything went black until I was knocked out so they can look at my dream. "She's out let's begin." So they began to turn on the dream machine and started to work on me.
Six hours later, they were done with me. "All we have to do is wait until she's out of the anesthetic to tell her. Right now we have to tell her family." "Where's her parents?" "She said that her parents are in Ohio. I think that's where she's from." The doctor said. So they went inside the waiting room. Scooby was even there when I woke up. He was in my room keeping me company while the doctors talked to the gang.
Everyone got up. "So what's going on?" Mrs. Band asked the doctor while facing him. "Journey has a abnormal part of her brain that's not visible to most people but her. She's a dreamer and believer. Some of her dreams came true. Like the when the man drugged her. That was in her dreams. She got the same one today." "But why does she say 'I want something to scare me?'" Fred asked the doctor.
"We have no answer for that." "Everytime she gets these nightmares and all that, she grabs a drink of water and act like she's not scared." "Like, she acts like nothing happened." Shaggy said. "That's a mystery I can't solve. She only has the answers to those questions. She may not tell because she's scared of reactions." "Is this normal?" "This is far from abnormal. One of the doctors tried to attack her and told the nurses that she saw the guy. The guy that drugged her." "Rouney's up." Scooby said.
I was very much up and out of it. Everyone came inside the room to where I was. "Are you alright now?" Daphne asked. "Fine, bit dizzy but fine. So what did you find out." "You have a abnormal part of your brain that's invisible to us. How long have you've done this?" "A very long time since I was a pre teen." I said. So I watched the tape of what I was dreaming. "Oh my gosh. It's like I've been in her head." Shaggy said. Scooby agreed. Scooby was licking my hand. "Hey Scoob." I said. I patted him and gave him a kiss on the forehead. He had a very cute smile on his doggy face. "You guys are the best buddies ever." I said. I was happy.
A few days later, was allowed to go home. Everyone saw me and asked me a few questions. "What happened?" Betty asked me. "I have a abnormal place in my brain that is not invisible to the naked eye." I said. "And what else." "You know that doctor that attacked me?" I asked. "Yeah." Veronica said. "He's fired and sent off to jail." "Why don't we have a little celebration." "Why?" "Just for the fun of it." They said. "Okay."
Access came to me. "Hey." He said. He was a bit nervous in some way. "Hey." I said. "Why don't you and I go out sometime." "Sure." "Okay, see ya 'round." I said. Access left. "Who's that?" "Access." I said to both of them. "That's his real name, you gotta tell me that's his real name?" Veronica said. I laughed. "No that's not his real name. He was originally named William. But he changed his name to Access because he can get access to almost everything." I said. "Come on lets go." Betty said. "Okay." So the three of us went to this diner near by.
Once I was done celebrating and hanging out with them, I walked back to the Band's to the sidewalk. Once I got back to the Band's, the place was packed. "What's going on?" I thought. So I went inside and there was this family reunion of some kind. I didn't know it was formal. My friends were there. Colombo was there too. "How are you feeling?" "Great." I hung out with my family. Soon as I went into my room, there was something there. "What's this?" I asked myself. I was totally alone until Daphne came inside. "What is that?" she asked me.
She was wearing her long, purple dress. "I didn't know this was going on." I said. "You better dress up because it's formal." She said. "Okay I'll be there in a minute." "Okay then." I went to the closet to find my dress. I picked out my black flowered dress. It looked so cool on me. I looked into the long mirror. I saw someone else's reflection. It was only Access. "It's only you." "Yeah it's me alright." He said. "You look great." He said. "Thanks you too." I said.
"Open that box, there's something for you." He said. So I opened the box. "It's a choker like necklace." I said. Now I was speechless as he put it on. "It looks great with your dress." He said while joining me looking at the mirror. "Thanks… come on let's go and join the party." I said. We left arm and arm to the kitchen.
Fred, Shaggy and Velma joined us. "You look great." Fred said. He wore a tux. With a bow tie and stuff. "Thanks guys you too." I said. "This is a nice party going on." He said. "Like is it the hippist." Shaggy said. "No more ghost that's all I have to say." Fred said. "I think I agree with you." Velma said. So we all separated to join the reunion.
Fred and I went to see a aunt of mine. "Journey, its so good to see you." She said. "It's great to see you too." I said in a manored way. Then I saw some people at the door. Mrs. Band got Daphne and me together because some people are here to see us.
It was mom and dad. "It's great to see you mom." I said giving her a hug. "We heard what happened over at the hospital a few days ago and a week after that." Dad said. "And someone who turned out to be a friend of your saved you because you fainted or passed out on her doorstep." Mom said. "How did you know that?" Daphne asked. "Mrs. Band tells us what happens to both of you. But it's good to see you and you out of the hospital Journey." Dad said. "It's great seeing you. I haven't seen you guys in a long time." I said while giving dad a hug. "How are you feeling now?" Daphne asked. "I'm great." I said. "Where are the Band's?" "All over the place. I'll show you." Daphne said.
So Daph and dad left. Mom and I sat down on one of their fancy couches. "So how is that strange head of yours?" mom asked me. "Fine." Then a servant came to us. "Want any tea Mrs. Blake?" The servant asked. "No thanks." "And you Miss Blake?" "I'll have some water thanks." "Right away Miss Blake." The servant left. "What did the doctors say to you?" She asked. "They said that I have a very big thing in my brain that's invisible to people but me." "Only you can see it." "Yup." "So that's why you have a evil habit." She yelled. "Not to loud mom." I said.
Everyone in that room and other rooms starred at me. "Spare me the embarrassment mom." I said. "Sorry dear." So the servant came back to me with the glass of water. "Your water Miss Blake. Or should I say big head." He said. Everyone laughed hysterically. I looked at mom with the mad look. I was flaming mad. "I'm going out." I said while getting up. "Journey, wait!" mom said.
Access and Daphne came after me. They couldn't find me. I just wanted to die after what mom did to me. Why should she do that to me? Do you know how embarrassing that is when your daughter has an evil habit that she cannot control? Scooby went after me and found me. "Please spare me. I don't want to go back there." I said. "Rare rou rokay?" Scooby asked. "No I'm not okay. I just got embarrassed by my own mother." I said. I was in tears.
Scooby and I were outside on the swings. "I'm just afraid that Daphne will laugh at me, Access to break up with me and the gang won't hang out with me because of my evil habit. I love Access to death. It's something I develop and something I can't control on my own. If words gets out, I'm going to be the laughing stalk of the town and Ohio!" I said. "Ri ron't run raway." Scooby said while placing his head on my lap. "I know you don't. You're sweet to me. All dogs are. You are the only dog that understands me." I said while I was patting him.
"Journey!" Access screamed. "That must be him. I better hide in my car." I kissed Scooby goodbye and ran into the car. "Come on out." Access said. He found me at the driver's seat of my car. "Come out." "No. Come with me for a drive." So he and Scooby joined me. So I backed up and left the mansion.
During our drive, Access and I talked. "Why did my own mother embarrass me with what she said?" I asked. "I don't know." Access said. "I don't want no one else to find out about my evil habit. I let a best friend know but not my whole family." "Why do you let it in?" He asked. "I didn't want to tell you because you think I am evil and mean all together and you will break up with me. Now you know, I think you want to break up with me. No one wants to date me anymore." I said depressingly.
We stopped at the park and I turned off the engine. "Why would I do a bad thing like that?" "Because you just found out what I do and stuff." "I found out that your evil habit is uncontrollable and scares the life out of you." He continued. "Journey, I love you for you. Not by what you do." I had my head laid on the wheel not facing him. He grabbed my hand. "I didn't go out with you because of what you do." He said. Now I had my head up. "Really?" I asked. "Yeah. I wouldn't be here talking to you if I didn't laugh at you. I care about you. You're sweet, generous and the best talent this country has ever seen. I cherish you for that." He said. "I know you do." "Re roo." Scooby said while licking me. All three of us got out of the car to take a little breather.
"Are you okay now?" Access asked while wrapping his arms around me. I did the same. Both of us had a serious look on our faces. "With you and Scooby around. I'm fine." Right there and then, he kissed me. It was a very serious kiss. Scooby covered his eyes. "Ross!" he said. Half a minute later, he let go of that kiss. "See I'm serious when I kiss you." He said. I turned around. "Look at Scooby." Access joined me when we saw him. "Scooby, it's over, you can uncover your eyes now."
We were about to laugh. Scooby uncovered his eyes and saw us. "Rou ruys rare ross ren rou riss." "Kids thinks so as well. We're serious when we kiss." I said. Both of us still have arms around each other. "Come on lets' go back." He said. "How do we get in without the embarrassment?" I asked. "Don't worry, I know that house very well." He said while touching my hair. "Okay Let's go back. I'm tired too." I said. "Rooby rired roo." Scooby said. "So am I." Access said. So Access drove back. Scooby and I were sleeping in the back of the car.
When we got back to the estate, everyone but my parents left. We took a secret tunnel back in. Scooby and I were awake to find out. "See I told you I know this house inside and out." Access said. "Don't rub it in now." I said teasingly. "I won't." Access said. The secret tunnel lead to hall of doors. "How do we get in my bedroom now?" I asked. "We take room #25." So we did that. And it did lead to the room I was staying in. "Goodnight Scooby." "Right Rouney." Scooby said while licking me. He left. I got dressed for bed.
Access came back a few minutes later. I was already in bed. "All dressed up and no place to go." He said while he sat next me on the bed touching my hair again. "Thanks for understanding me." I said. "Anything for you." He kissed me goodnight. "I will never forget what happened to us tonight." I said. "I will remember this forever. Goodnight." "Goodnight." He kissed my cheek and left. I went to sleep.
The next day, I was awoken by the smell of breakfast. I smelt pancakes, cereal, chocolate and a whole lot of food. I was so hungry. So I got out of bed and walked to the kitchen with extreme caution.
When I got to the kitchen, I was greeted by my father, Daphne, Velma and Scooby. "Morning." They said to me. "Aren't you going to laugh at me?" I asked. "No." "Okay then." I said. So I sat next between Dad and Daphne and ate some food. "I'm starving." I said.
"Are you okay after what your mother did to you?" Velma asked. "With Access and Scooby's help, I never felt better, you guys love me because of me, not the things I do." "He's right." Dad said. "Thanks dad." I gave him a hug. "And thank you guys for believing in me." I said. "No problem." Daphne said. "Anything for a friend." Velma said. "Reah." Scooby said.
Everyone else woke up as well and joined us at the dinner table. I got up and went to the living room. I was all finished with my big breakfast. Access and Daph joined me. "Hey girl, how are you doing?" Daphne asked. "Wonderful right now. I'm full of food but great." I said. "Did you just say food?" Shaggy said. "Yeah there's lots of it to go around." I said. So Shaggy went to the kitchen and ate some breakfast.
We heard a big boomer outside. It began to rain. Then the power went out. I jumped into Access's arms. Colombo was extremely jealous. He had an evil tone. Keri took care of that. "Now what do we do?" One of the cousins asked. "I don't know. I think we can just stay here and relax." Shaggy said. Then the power was back on. Everyone was so happy. Access kept me close and when they came on, I saw the most amazing thing. Scooby and Shaggy were on the floor, shivering. Everyone laughed, including them.
"Cool, the powers back on!!" Shaggy exclaimed. All of us went outside to get some fresh air. "I got to go practice for my concert tonight." I said. "You got a concert tonight?" One of the cousins asked. "Yep. I'm going to get my friends as back up and dancers. I want everyone to be there to see me sing, play the guitar." I said. So I went to my practice and we practiced the whole afternoon.
Everyone was at my concert. I was so happy, everyone dressed into their outfits. I like to call my concerts "Different like any other." It was a huge success. I sang "I know you want to", "Friendship", "Day and night of Love" plus other songs. But not in that order. I didn't know this was going to happen. I made a mistake on the last song and broke my ankle. "Are you okay Journey?" "Fine." I said. I heard another dancer sprained his leg and another popped his shoulder. Ouch! So I had to leave town in crutches. I was so saddened. "I had never had this happen to me before." I said. Daphne was sad. "Don't worry, everything's going to be just fine once we get back to Coolsville." Daphne said. "Yeah." Fred said. "Don't worry, everythings going to be great after that cast is off."
I was saddened because I had to say goodbye to my friends. I was sad for days. "Don't worry, we'll see ya soon." They signed my cast and I signed something for them.
Back in Ohio, everything was back to normal. Six weeks later, my cast came off. I kept it in a safe place because that cast was full of memories and my friends signatures. Well see ya around. The end
NEXT STORY:
DISASTROUS TO DANGEROUS. Scooby Doo and the Gang are on a trip to the West Coast for a friend's birthday party. What the gang doesn't know is that there is a terrorist on the trial. Each gets captured one by one all except Daphne and Fred. It's up to them to save the gang or else scary things will happen.
