It was a breezy summer afternoon. Scooby-Doo and the gang were driving down a narrow country road in Oregon. They were going to see Fred's brother, Madison, who lived in Salem.
Scooby was sound asleep in the back. Shaggy, Velma, and Fred were up front, and Daphne and Sabrina were in the back with Scooby.
All of a sudden, Scooby was aroused by a most beautiful sound. He opened his eyes, and right there in front of him, saw an amzing sight.
Sabrina was at work with the guitar strings, and singing with a voice of gold, as Shaggy would say. And then Scooby realized that there were TWO voices singing!
Scooby raised his head, and right next to Sabrina, sat one of her best friends, miss Daphne Blake. She was the other person singing! They sounded terrific!
Then Daph had a solo. Sabri continued to play the guitar, and Daphne sang along on her own. Scooby started to thump his tail to the beat as he listened to the fantastic harmony that the two girls sang. He had to let somebody know!
Scooby bolted to the front end of the van, and sat right behind Shaggy. Then he tapped Shaggy's shoulder excitedly.
"Like, what is it, Scoob?" Shaggy said, without turning around.
"Rabrina! Raphne! Ringing rorether!" Scooby replied, while pretending to play the guitar and howled with it.
"No, way! Like, I know Sabrina can sing, but Daphne? Like I think you're just hearing the radio old buddy."
"Ruh-uh! Ri'll rove it!" Scooby said. He pointed to the radio, detecting that the radio was indeed off. Then when Shaggy still refused to believe him, Scooby grabbed his head in his front paws, and turned Shaggy around, towards the two girls, who were as Scooby said, singing.
"Like, wow! You two sound great!" Shaggy exclaimed.
"Thanks, Shaggy," Sabri replied, still playing the guitar.
"Yeah, Shag. You're a good friend," Daphne implied. Then they continued to sing.
Fred stopped the Mystery Machine. He also turned around to see them singing. His jaw dropped! He couldn't believe it!
"Is that Daphne singing with Sabrina, or am I dreaming?" he said. He pinched himself. "I'm totally NOT dreaming," he said again.
"Jinkies! What a surprise! Daphne, you never told us that you could sing!" Velma quirked.
"I didn't know, either," Daphne replied, shrugging. The gang was confused.
"I'll explain," Sabrina said. "See, when I was playing the guitar, I heard Daphne here humming a little bit. Then I asked her if she wanted to sing with me. She refused, and said she couldn't sing. Then I told her that she'd never know unless she tried. So she agreed, and then we started singing."
The girls played a couple of songs, and the gang absolutely loved it. They clapped with the beat, and sometimes sang along, even though they didn't know the words. Then they continued on their way to Madison's house, several miles down the road. The gang realized that they had a fantastic singing duo - right in the back of the Mystery Machine! Fred HAD to tell his brother! With that, he sped down to Madison's and he pulled into the drive.
Fred hurriedly brought the Mystery Machine to a halt and turned off the engine. "Madison! Come out here!" Fred hollered, getting out of the driver's side.
"Hey bro, you made it!" Madison said, coming out of the house. "Yeah, we did. You've got to hear Sabri and Daph! It will blow you away!" Fred said excitedly. "Do what? What do you want me to hear?" Madison asked, scratching his head in confusion.
"Just listen to them." Velma said. Sabri and Daphne didn't know why it was such a big idea. Especially to their sisters, but they didn't come out of the back.
Shaggy unlocked the back excitedly. "Like, as I said, Sabrina's singing with a voice of gold." Shag said. "You never said my singing was like a voice of gold. Not to me anyway." Sabri said. Shaggy helped Sabri out of the back. Fred helped Daph out.
Sabri reached in and took out her guitar. She saw excited looks from Savvie, Velma and the others. "Ready Daph?" Sabri asked, tuning up her guitar. "Let's just get this over with." They sang together at first, then Daphne had her solo.
Madison knew that Fred was right. He was instantly blown away. He never knew that the girls had real, pure talent. Everyone gave them a standing ovation after the music faded.
"You two sound great. I have a friend in downtown Salem that would absolutely love you guys." Madison said. "What does this guy do?" Daph asked. "It's a female and she's a disc jockey on the local radio station. Her name is Kavia McMillan." Madison said. "We'll go tomorrow."
Daph and Sabri sighed in relief. "What do you think we were going today?" Velma asked. The girls nodded. "Don't think so. We just got here." Savvie said.
"I'm starving." Shaggy announced. "Help yourselves you two. I'll help bring in the luggage." Madison said. "What is the big deal?" Sabri asked. "Bout what, sis." Velma asked, taking her suitcase from the back.
"Daph and my singing. What's so big about it?" Sabri asked. "It's the fact that you two rock!" Savvie said enthusiastically. Sabri thought a minute. "Doesn't come close to singing with a voice of gold." Sabri said. "That's because Shaggy said it and I didn't." Savvie said.
"Don't worry Savvie. I take every comment you say to heart because you're my best friend." Sabri said. Savvie smiled. "Thanks." She said. That made Daph a bit jealous. "What re the staying arrangements? Fred asked. "Same as last time." Madison said.
That night in the Dinkley sister's staying room, they talked. Sabri was tuning up her guitar in her pajamas. Velma was doing some exercise. "I'm not sure about tomorrow. I don't want to be famous." Sabri said.
"You don't know that. Besides, you're the Executive Producer of 'Coast to Coast.' You're already famous." Velma said. "That's something that I can scratch off my list of ten things I didn't know." Sabri said sarcastically.
"Don't worry about it" Velma said. "Have I told you that you're the best sister a girl could ever have?" Sabrina asked. "No, not that I recall." Velma said. "Well, you are." Sabrina said getting up, putting her guitar down and hugging her sister.
She went downstairs to talk to Madison, instead, she found Shag pigging out on his latest refrigerator raid. "Hey!" Sabri said. It startled him. "Hey Sabri, what are you doing up, like, late?" Shag asked. "I can ask you the same question." Sabri said, sitting beside him.
"Hungry?" Sabri asked. "Oh yeah, you?" "No, I'm looking for," She said, peering into the living room. "Madison, have you seen him?" Sabri asked. "No why?" Shag asked. "Someone mention me?" Madison asked.
“I did. I need to speak to you.” Sabri said. “Sure, come with me. I’ve got to take Chelsey for a walk.” Madison said. Sabri put on Shag’s jacket and followed him out.
Madison and Sabri were gone for fifteen minutes. Shaggy and Fred talked. “What’s with Madison and Sabri. They’re together every time we come here.” Shaggy said. “Sabrina didn’t have any brothers. So Madison’s like a brother to her. There’s nothing to worry about.” Freddy said.
After the two came back, everyone turned in for the night. Neither Sabri nor Daphne could get any sleep. Sabri ended up in the living room and so did Daphne.
“Can’t sleep either?” Daph said as she came in. “Can’t sleep, but we should be. “ We’ve got to practice the song.” Daph said.
Sabri picked up her guitar. They practiced until the sun rose. Then they fell asleep. Shag and Fred found them sleeping.
Sabri was stretched out on the couch her left hand grasped the neck of the guitar. Daphne was on the loveseat, in the same position as Sabri. Her hand barley touched the floor.
Shaggy went to wake up Sabri and Daph. Fred put a hand on his shoulder. “Don’t. They might have stayed up all night.” Fred whispered. They snuck out. Their sisters woke up Sabri and Daphne two hours later.
“Get up!” Everyone got up, got ready and went down town. They followed Madison. They entered the studio after parking their cars.
“Madison Jones! Welcome back. Kavia McMillian’s waiting for all of you in the studio.” The secretary said. Madison leaded the group into the studio.
“Kavia!” Madison said. “Hey you. Who are the two talented people?” Kavia asked. Shyly, Sabri and Daphne stepped forward. “Kavia, these are Daphne Blake and Sabrina Dinkley. Girls, this is Kavia McMillian.” Madison said.
Everyone shook hands. Daph and Sabrina sang their song and recorded it at the same time. They waited for the general public’s response.
“If you have any comments to the song you just heard, give us a call and we’ll be right back. This is Kavia McMillian.” She said.
She sighed and saw that the lights on the touch tone phone lighted up instantaneously. Two minutes later, she touched a lighted button, “And we’re back So, what did you think about the song you just heard?” She asked.
“They rock! It was awesome!” The person said. It was all the same comments every time that she touched a lighted button. “Congratulations ladies, you’ve got a hit!” Kavia said.
They left three hours later. And in the next few days, their hit was played almost all the time. They were household names!
Everybody was so happy for the girls. Then, at dinner, Sab and Daph got a huge surprise.
Madison came out of the dining room, carrying a huge turkey, roasted perfectly to a golden brown. Scooby and Shaggy drooled hungrily. Madison set the bird down in the middle of the table.
"Roh, boy!" Scooby yelped as he dove for the turkey. But Shaggy grabbed his collar, restraining him.
"Like, sorry ol' buddy. We're not the guests of honor," Shaggy said. Scooby sighed, and sat back down.
The gang ate their dinner, commenting the girls on their newly discovered talent. The girls just listened, but kept quiet most of the time.
Afterwards, the gang went into the living room to sit down. Then, Madison turned on his stereo, which played the N' Sync song "I Want You Back".
Then, while the song played, Madison and Fred moved the coffee table out of the way, and off to the side. Then they, Scooby, and Shaggy took the floor. They got in a line, facing their crushes. Fred faced Daph, Madison and Shaggy faced Sabrina, and Scooby faced Chelsey, Madison's beautiful Irish setter. They danced wildly with the song, and tried to impress the girls. They laughed at them, because even though the guys tried to dance right, they still looked pretty silly. The song ended, and the guys collapsed to the floor.
Daphne rushed to Fred, who had fallen over backwards. She put her hand under his head.
"Are you okay?" she asked, a concerned look on her face.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Did you like the dance?" Fred replied.
"Oh, that was DANCING?" Daph giggled as she helped him up. Fred frowned.
"Droll. Very DROLL," Fred said with a low tone in his voice.
Everyone helped put the table back in place, and turned in. In the Blake sisters' room, Savvie spoke up.
"Boy, Daphne, isn't it great that you and Sabbs are getting all the attention?" she said happily.
Daphne was reading a book. She looked at her sister. She set the book on the bed, and turned toward Savvie.
"Yeah . . . I guess," Daphne trailed off.
"What do you mean 'I guess'? You're a hit!" Savvie said, surprised by her sister's doubtful reaction.
"Yeah, but there's a lot of people who can sing, and they're not famous," Daph said as she got under the covers.
"Okay. Enough talk. You and Sabbs have got to preform at the studio tomorrow - get some sleep," Savvie replied.
"I guess you're right, Savvie. Thanks for the advice. G'night," Daphne yawned as she drifted off to a dreamless slumber.
The next day, the gang went back to the studio, where Kavia was playing their song.
"Hey, Sab n' Daph! Sup?" Kavia asked while shaking their hands.
Kavia went over to the recording equipment, and hooked up Sabrina's guitar to the amp. Sabri played a few notes. Daphne and the gang was SHOCKED! The loud note blew them away! Everybody's hair was standing on end, and Sabrina was frozen. She dropped her guitar.
Kavia turned down the volume on the amp.
"Sorry. Too loud," Kavia apologized. Then she went on the air.
"And now, preforming live at the studio, the two newcomers to the world of music, Daphne Blake and Sabrina Dinkley!" Kavia announced.
Then the pair started to play their song, and when they got halfway through, the equipment suddenly exploded into flames! Everyone gasped.
Next, all of the lights in the studio flickered. Everyone in the room heard the gasps and screams of others in the studio as the lights dimmed even more, then just went out all together.
Scooby jumped into Shaggy's arms as a light blue ball of light floated into the room. Everybody froze, dead in place.
As the ball of light came closer, Daphne leaned over to Fred.
"I think we're in for something freaky," she whispered.
“What’s going on?” Savvie asked. “This has never happened before.” Kavia said. Sabrina took Madison’s hand in fright
The ball of light destroyed most of the studio and left. Kavia turned to everyone.
“I’m so sorry everyone, this has never happened before. The performance is hear by postponed till further notice.” Kavia said. Everyone left but the gang.
They were still frozen in place by the events that they’d just witnessed. Sabri and Madison were the first to move around. But Sabrina didn’t let go of his hand.
He turned to look at her. When she realized that she had Madison’s hand in a tight hold, she let it go and smiled. “Sorry.” She said sheepishly. “It’s alright.” He replied.
Sab and Daph were the most shook up when they returned to the ranch in the same hour. Madison felt sorry for the girls and decided to talk with them. He sat next to Sabri and Daph on the couch.
“Are you two girls okay?” He asked. “I’m fine.” Sabri said, reading that day’s newspaper. “Me too.” Daphne said. She got up and went outside. Madison was glad that they were alone again.
“Why did you take my hand at the studio?” he asked. “I was s cared, you were the closest to me.” Sabri answered plainly.
“What’s in the news Sabrina?” he asked. “News? I read the other sections. I don’t read nor pay attention to news.” Sabri replied. “Oh, okay.” He said.
* Now’s your time to impress her, ask her if she’s thirsty. * Madison thought. “Thirsty?” He asked. “Yeah, thanks for asking. I’d like some juice.” Sabri said.
“Juice it is.” He said, getting up. Sabri’s heart was pounding hard, and she didn’t know why. Fred was in the kitchen when Madison walked in. “What did you think of the events that happened at the studio?” he asked.
“It was very weird. Sabri took my hand because she claims that I was the closest and that she was scared.” Madison replied, pouring some juice into a cup. Fred didn’t know what to say.
It was always Fred going to Madison for advice on girls. But this time it was different. “Maybe she loves ya. I don’t know. I can’t figure out Sabrina’s emotions.” Fred said, shrugging.
“Who’s the juice for?” Fred asked, pointing at the cup. “It’s for Sabrina.” He replied. “Where’s Daphne?” Fred asked. “She’s outside.” He replied.
As he was walking out, he bumped into Velma. The juice splotched from the cup and splashed on both of them.
Madison was wearing most of it. “I’m sorry Madison.” Velma said. “It’s alright.” Madison said.
“Where’s your sister?” He asked. “She’s outside with Chelsey. Why?” Velma asked. “I guess she’s not thirsty.” Madison sighed. “She told me to tell you she’d rather have a glass of water.” Velma said.
He went to the sink and got water from the tap. “Sabrina mentioned to me that she’s got a soft spot for you Madison.” Velma said.
“She does huh?” He asked. “Yeah. But she’s a shy person and doesn’t tend to let out her feelings. I just might think that she’s got a crush on you and doesn’t realize it yet.” Velma revealed.
“Thanks for the tip.” Madison said, going outside, carefully this time. “Hey Sabrina! Here’s your water!” He yelled.
“Thanks. What happened to you?” She asked, noticing the enormous juice stain on his shirt. “Oh, I accidentally ran into Velma and I ended up wearing your drink.” He explained.
“Of course, she wore some too.” Madison said. Sabrina giggled. “She told me you wanted some water so…’ Madison trailed off.
“I’m soo sorry I’m confusing you with what I want.” Sabrina said sweetly. “It’s alright. No problem.” He said.
Sabrina got that feeling again. She had explained the feeling to Savvie. She couldn’t find an explanation for it. She blushed and smiled at the same time. Madison noticed that and smiled back. He handed her the water.
“Thank you.” She said, drinking it all. She handed it back to Madison. Sabri sat on the ground. Chelsey, seeing her window of opportunity, ran up and licked Sabrina’s face happily.
“Chelsey, get down.” Madison said. “It’s okay.” Sabri said. She got up again. She was now eye to eye with Madison.
“Do you have any horses that I can ride. I need to get my mind off that studio incident.” Sabrina asked. Before he could answer, Velma rushed outside, with Savvie behind her.
“Guess what guys, Kavia just called.” Velma said. “She wants us down at the studio pronto!” Savvie continued. “Then what are we waiting for…let’s go!” Fred hollered.
Everyone went to the Mystery Machine. Madison got into his truck. Sabri decided that she’d go with him. She didn’t want to get crushed by Shaggy and Scooby again.
Madison questioned her when she shut the door and buckled herself in. “Why are you going with me?” he asked, looking up and strapping himself in.
“There’s no room in the Mystery Machine. Please don’t argue with me and let me join you in the truck.” Sabrina begged in a quiet tone. He couldn’t refuse and now wasn’t a time to argue.
Chelsey hopped in the trunk. The Mystery Machine and Madison’s truck went down to the studio as fast as they could.
Everyone sped down to the radio station as fast as they could. When they arrived, Kavia was standing outside, waiting for them. When the gang pulled up and got out, she ran up to them. She looked very shaken up by something.
"What happened?" Daphne asked.
"T-that thing attacked again!" Kavia answered.
"Let's investigate," Fred said. He and Madison reached into the back of the Mystery Machine, and pulled out a couple of flashlights.
"Okay, let's spit up. Madison, you, Sabri, Scooby, Shaggy, and Velma go to the east side of the building, and Savvie, Daphne, and I will search the west side," Fred announced.
"Okay. Be careful," Kavia said.
"We will," Sabrina replied as she followed the rest of the gang into the building.
"I can really tell that Fred's got a crush on Daphne," Velma whispered to her sister.
"Reah," Scooby said.
Meanwhile, Daphne, Fred, and Savvie were exploring the room that they were in a few days before. Suddenly, that strange ball of light floated up to them! The three froze. Fred held Daphne close, and Savvie hid behind them.
The ball of light started to take form. It changed into - a wolf?! The three were surely surprised.
The wolf-thing growled. It was floating in the air - like a ghost! Then it spoke to them through mind power!
"There is nothing you can do! You will never sing in this studio again! It's MINE now!" the wolf-thing thought, sending the message to the brains of Fred, Daphne, and Savvie.
Suddenly, the thing howled, sending a strong sound wave all through the room. The windows shattered, and the equipment crashed to the ground from the vibration. Then it shot out an electric shock - right at Savvie! That's when Daph lost it.
Daph grabbed a record, and ran in front of her twin sister, protecting her. She held the record in front of her, and the ball of electricity bounced off the record, and right back at the ghost! The ghost was truck dumb when he was hit, and when he quickly recovered, Daphne sent him a message through thought: "Go ahead. Take me!"
The ghost then became enraged. Savvie had bolted from the room, and ran to get the rest of the gang. and before Fred could move, the ghost sent another shock - at Daph!
The shock hit Daph in the chest - right in the heart. Daphne's eyes rolled up, then she staggered a few steps. Seriously hurt, she dropped to the ground, unconcious. Fred ran to her side. The ghost disappeared in the blink of an eye.
A moment later, Savvie had returned, with the rest of the gang beside her.
"Oh, no! My sister!" Savvie said. She ran to Daphne, and tried to shake her awake. Daphne didn't respond. Savvie broke down and cried.
Sabrina let Savvie cry on her shoulder. She turned to Fred. "What happened?" she asked. Now Sab's eyes were becoming hot with tears as she asked the question. A couple of tears rolled down her cheeks. By the look on Fred's face, she could tell that his eyes were welling up, too. So were the rest of the gang's. Scooby sniffed. He walked up to Daphne, and licked her face, trying to revive his friend.
"Raphne! Raphne!" Scooby cried.
"Like, it's no use, ol' buddy," Shaggy said with a few sniffs. Scooby looked up at him, with pleading eyes. Shaggy sighed, then said, "She's d-d-dead."
"But she can't be!" Sabrina said with protest. "Not Daphne!"
Then Kavia ran into the room. She saw Daphne on the floor, and the rest of the gang standing around her, crying their eyes out.
"What happened?" Kavia asked.
"The ghost got her," Madison said.
"Wait! She might still have a chance!" Sabrina said. She pulled out the cell phone from Kavia's pocket.
"Hey! What're you doing?!" Kavia demanded.
Sabbs dialed 9-1-1. She explained that Daphne was hurt, and the paramedics were there almost instantly. They carried her limp body out on a stretcher.
"C'mon! We've got a case to solve!" Sabrina said after the ambulance left.
"Like, how can you say that?" Shaggy sniffed.
"Yeah. Daphne's hurt," Madison said.
"You know what?!" Sabrina said.
"Rhat?" Scooby asked.
"Daph wouldn't just stand around if there was a case to be solved! That's what!" Sabbs said.
"Yeah!" Velma said. "Daphne would want us to solve the case!"
"No obsticle could stand in her way - she wouldn't give up till the crooks were busted!" Fred implied.
"I know my sister better than anyone. And she hasn't ever backed down from a case - EVER!" Savvie said.
"So I say we shouldn't let our friend down!" Sabrina said.
"Let's get this case solved! Daph would want us to - no matter what!" Sabrina said inspiringly. She flicked on the flashlight. Then she walked into the building.
"C'mon! For Daphne!" Velma said. She followed her sister.
With out resistance, Fred, Madison, Scooby and Shaggy went into the building. They wouldn't let their friend down.
Fred stopped everyone again. “I say that we split up again. This time, in-groups of twos and threes. Madison, you take Sabri and head to the studio itself.” He said pointing.
“Shaggy, Scooby and I will check out the stage area, and Velma and Savvie will search the entire building. We’ll meet back here with any clues.” Fred said, choking up.
Madison and Sabri went into the studio itself, as instructed. Sabri was wiping tears from her eyes. “Sabri, what’s wrong?” Madison asked.
Before she could answer, the ghost showed up again. Madison and Sabri couldn’t move. They were paralyzed from fright.
“You’ve come back for some more, eh?” It asked though thought. “Yeah, we have! If you intend to hit anything, you can hit me.” Sabri responded silently. Madison didn’t say or think anything.
Velma and Savvie were searching around the entrance and the back entries. Velma accidentally stepped on broken records and equipment.
“How are Madison and Sabri doing, you think?” Savvie asked. “I bet that they’re doing okay.” Velma said with a worried tone. She stood in place.
“I’m scared, okay. I’m scared for Sabrina. That ghost hit Daph because she sang here. It might hit Sabri for the same reason. Sabri does foolish things when she’s angry and upset. No one can stop her.” Velma explained.
“And I don’t think even Madison can stop her.” Savvie said. “As I said, no one can. Her emotions rule over any conscious she’s got. If she has any.” Velma said.
“Don’t worry. I bet that nothing will happen to her.” Savvie said, unsure of her answer. She wasn’t sure about what was gonna happen next.
Sabrina stood motionlessly, waiting. “Come on, what are ya, a frady cat? Go on; hit me! I double dog dare you!” Sabri taunted him silently.
Without faltering, the ghost hit her in the same place with the same shock he used on Daphne. Fred heard a loud crackling noise and instructed the other two to follow him.
The sound led them to the studio. Where he saw his brother, but no Sabi.
“Madison, where’s Sabrina?” Fred asked. “Right here.” he said. “What happened?” Fred asked. “I don’t know. They were talking mentally, I guess, then Sabri was hit.” Madison said.
Velma and Savvie showed up too. “Oh no! Not Sabri! This can’t be!” Velma said with tears streaming down her face. “She was struck also.” Savvy observed. She gave Velma a hug.
Savvie saw over Velma’s shoulder and saw Madison. She didn’t realize the sorrow that he was feeling. He had tears flow like rain down his face.
“I bet I got a clue to what Sabri did.” Velma said though tears. Savvie let go of the embrace. “What?” Madison asked.
“She was upset and angry, and when she’s feeling those emotions, she does stupid things. I think she dared it because she was angry that that it hit Daph.” Velma said.
“No one could stop her.” Savvie said. Everyone looked at the unconscious body that was Sabri as if she were dead, as if both were dead, as if they were mourning both girls.
Thoughts of a half-hour earlier and what happened to Daphne with what just happened to Sabrina ran together like a raging river.
Kavia showed up to investigate a loud bang. “Not Sabrina too!” Kavia said in shock. “The same thing happened to Sabri.
She called an ambulance and they picked her up. The vehicle took Sabri to the hospital to join Daphne.
“Daphne and Sabrina let their emotions cloud their judgement.” Velma said. The good news was that Sabrina Dinkley and Daphne Blake are still alive.
They lay on two examining tables. Two teams of ER doctors were examining the damages. They were shocked to see the same wound that was seen on Daphne.
“Both victims hit in the same area, likely at the same force, and the wound’s the same diameter of the other.” One doctor noted.
“Why, and how?” Another asked. “We’re doctors, we don’t ask why.” Another answered.
“Both of them have a pulse. Strong ones.” The first doctor said. “But they’re out cold.” The second one spoke.
“Put them in a recovery room. Together; I’ve got a feeling that they know each other.” The head guy said.
“I know who these people are!” A nurse said. “Who?” “That one’s Daphne Blake! The other’s Sabrina Dinkley!” The nurse said. “How do you know?” “Have you ever watched ‘Coast to Coast?’” She asked.
“Oh my god, that’s them. But what are they doing in Salem?” “We’re doctors, remember. We don’t ask what.” One said. The girls were put in the same recovery room. Side by side.
At the Studio, the gang stayed together. The ghost showed up once more to taunt them with his words.
“This place is mine! All MINE!” He taunted silently. It howled again. Everything collapsed from the vibrations. It destroyed nearly everything there.
The vibrations were that strong. That’s when Madison came up with an idea.
Seeing everything was destroyed and with an evil smirk, the ghost disappeared once more.
“I’ve got an idea on how we can catch it.” He said. His thoughts were about Sabrina and Daphne’s recovery. “How?” Savvie asked.
Madison whispered his plan to everyone, except Scooby and Shaggy, who were cowering in a corner. Then they all looked at them, smiling slyly.
"Like, uhh, uh! Not us!" Shaggy protested. "Rope! Rot rus!" Scooby said, folding his arms across his chest.
"Oh, come on. For Sabrina?" Velma said. Shag and Scoob raised their eyebrows. Velma grinned. It was working.
"And Daphne?" Savvie said. "Just think of them, laying there in the hospital, hoping faithful Scooby and Shaggy will catch the one ghost in which they failed to capture," Savvie said again.
The rest of the gang nodded. That did it. Shag and Scoob started to feel guilty. They lowered their heads, and let
their arms drop to their sides. They sighed, thinking of the poor girls who were lingering near death at the hospital.
“L-l-like, okay," Shaggy said, giving in. He wiped a tear from his cheek and >blowing his nose. "We'll do it. What's the plan?" He and Scooby sniffed as more hot tears formed in their eyes.
Meanwhile, in the hospital, a team of doctors examined Sabbs and Daph. They were looking at a few X-rays of their chest cavities, where they were hit.
"Look - the injuries are exactly the same on the inside, too!" one doctor said, comparing the results. The doctors noticed that their patients were still unconsious. They hooked them up to oxygen tubes and IV's. They were given some antibiotics and pain-killers, then put in the intensive care unit.
The doctor looked at the results again."Hey, look! The force was so strong, that each of their rib cages have four
broken ribs - in the middle in front of the heart!"
"But the force hit the heart anyway, putting them into shock," another doctor said.
"They were lucky their hearts weren't blown to smitherines - inside their bodies!" a nurse said, shuddering.
"But still, there's a good chance that they'll either slip into a coma . . . or die," the first doctor said grimly.
A bright, fuzzy vision came into veiw as Daphne slowly opened her eyes. A nurse was dabbing at her forehead with a cool rag. At first, the bright white lights blinded her, forcing her to open her eyes just a slit. She groaned, and shook her head slowly, as if to say, "I'm up!" She cringed as she heard the heart monitor beeping with every heartbeat.
"Sshhhhhh. Rest now . . . get some rest, child. You and your friend will be okay," the nurse whispered softly. She left the room, and Daphne turned over on her side, away from those annoying lights. Then, she drifted into a dreamless slumber, knowing that she and Sabri were going to be fine.
Sabrina hadn't woken up yet. The Nurse came back to check on them. A doctor followed her.
"Miss Dinkley hasn't woken up. I'm getting worried." He said. Daphne woke up and opened her eyes.
"I'm glad that you're awake Miss Blake." The nurse said. "What about Sabrina?" Daphne asked. "She hasn't..." Sabrina opened her eyes to the same blinding light. She was awake, and alarmed.
"Get me out of here!" Sabrina panicked. The nurse had to restrain her. "Don't worry, it's okay." The nurse said, trying to calm her down.
Sabrina hissed in pain. "That hurt!" She said, talking about the pain in her chest. "I guess the painkillers haven't kicked in yet." The doctor said.
Daphne and Sabri's eyes met. Seeing her best friend, Sabrina finally relaxed and calmed down. "I'm Dr. Kelgsly. I just came to check on you so I'm gonna leave you two to rest. And I sugget you do so. You two recieved life threating injuries." He said, leaving.
The nurse left too. "Where's the gang?" Sabri asked. "At the studio, why?" Daphne asked. "That's where they're suppose to be." Sabrina sighed.
At the studio, the gang set up the trap and Madison's plan was almost put in full swing. Madison called the hospital to check on the girls.
"That's great. Thank-you so much." Madison said, hanging up. "Good news everyone, Daph and Sabri have regained consciousness and are alert." Madison said with a smile.
"That's groovy!" Savvie squeeled. "What a relief. All I wanted to know was if my sister was okay. Thank you Madison said." Velma said, sighing in relief. She and Savvie moved things around to set a trap.
At the hosptial, Daphne and Sabrina were talking. "Why did you get hit?" Daphne asked. "I got angry and upset. I do stupid things without a though. I dared it to hit me and it hit me without hesitation." Sabri replied.
No one can talk me out of it nor convince me to stop. I know one thing now, I regret it." Sabrina said. "I kinda dared it to hit me too. And I regret doing it. I was only saving Savvie." Daphne said.
"Hey! Don't regret trying to save your sister. I know she means a lot to you. Like Velma means the world to me." Sabrina said. "I might know what motivated you to dare the ghost to hit you." Daphne said.
"Okay mind reader, do tell." Sabrina coaxed. "Because I was hit." Daphne said. Sabrina wore no expression. "Wow." She said plainly. Kavia snuck into the room.
"Hey girls, How are ya feelin?" She asked. "Like I was shot. The doctors won't tell us the damages those balls of electricity did to us." Sabrina replied.
"I'm fine. But it hurts a lot." Daphne said. "Glad you two are recovering nicely. These doctors usually don't. They'd tell the realtives." Kavia said. "I've gotta go." Kavia said.
Sabrina and Daphne watched her leave. "That's for sure." Daph sighed. "Got that right." Sabri said. "Who signed our Hospital Admission Papers?" Daphne asked, looking at Sabrina. "I dunno." Sabrina replied with a shrug.
A doctor, a female doctor, came in. "Hello young ladies. I'm Dr. Gemain and I want to talk with you." She said. The girls glanced at each other.
"Okay doc." Sabri said. "I'm filling out your Hospital Admission Papers. I need to ask you a few questions." She said. "Go ahead Dr. Gemain." Daphne said.
"Whose your closest blood realtive?" She asked Daph. "Savannah Blake." Daphne replied. "She is?" Gemain asked. "My twin sister." Daph replied.
"And you?" She asked Sabrina. "Velma Dinkley and she's my younger sister." Sabrina answered, combining the answers.
"Where are they now?" She asked. "They're at the local radio station. Both have cell phones." Sabrina said. Both girls answered every question put before them.
Meanwhile, at the Station, Madison was finally ready to exicute his plan. Everything was in place and the plan was ready to go.
"Okay, Scooby and Shaggy. You ready to catch a ghost?" Madison asked.
"Like, okay. For Daph and Sabri," Shaggy said as he and Scooby went to look
for the ghost.
"Roo-hoo! Rhost!" Scooby called. Suddenly, they ran into a ball of light!
Scooby jumped into Shaggy's arms. "Ripes! Ripes!" he yelped.
"You shall perish!" the ghost said through thought.
"Like, not if you can catch us first!" Shaggy responded mentally. That
angered the ghost even more. He bolted after them!
"Run, run, Raggy!" Scooby barked as he and his friend raced through the
corridors of the radio station.
"Like, I'm runnin' old buddy! It''s every coward for himself!" Shaggy
screamed.
They were running towards Madison's trap - perfect!
"Ready, girls?" Madison asked Savvie and Velma, who were holding a big
fishing net. They nodded. "Okay - wait till I give the signal," he
whispered. Scoob and Shag were almost there!
All of a sudden, Shaggy tripped, and fell! The ghost was coming closer!
Scooby saw the problem. Dispite his fear, he wheeled around, and noticed
that he was going to throw a shock at him! Desretely, Scooby grabbed the
closest thing to him - a metal tube in the shape of a "U"! Perfect! The
ghost threw a shock at Shaggy!
"Zoinks!" Shaggy creid. "Scooby-Doo, where are you!?" he cried again.
"Rover rhere!" Scooby said. He jumped in front of Shaggy, and just as the
ghost threw his big shock, Scooby held up the metal tube. The great shock
went into the tube, through it, and right back into the ghost's face! The
ghost rubbed at its eyes, giving Scooby and Shaggy time to scramble away.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Daphne and Sabrina were still in hospital beds.
They were hooked up to IV's and were very groggy.
"Man, my chest hurts," Daphne groaned.
"At least Savvie wasn't hurt. I never knew you had that much nerve," Sabrina
replied.
Daphne sneezed. "Yowch! My chest! It even hurts to sneeze! Oooohhh . . . if
I wasn't in this stupid hospital bed, I'd go down to that radio station, and
kick that ghost's-," Daphne was cut off by Sabri saying, "Chill out, Daph!
We nned our rest. I'm scared for the gang, too, but there's nothing we can
do about it right now," Sabbs said sadly.
"I know, I know. I hope everyone's okay," Daphne said with a tiny sniff and
a small whimper in her voice. After a few moments, the two girls were sound
asleep.
"Run, guys!" Madison called to Scooby and Shaggy as they ran towards him.
They ran in the direction of the net. They cleared it! The ghost was
hovering nearer.
Fred knew it was time for him to jump in. He raised his squirt gun, and fired
it into the ghost's eyes! The ghost started to try and rub the water from
its eyes, and it continued to hover towards the net. Madison gave the
signal, and the girls held up the net to trap their monster! Not seeing the
net, the ghost got himself entangled instantly. The girls released the net,
and the ghost dropped to the ground with a loud THUMP.
"Good job, guys!" the gang congradulated Scooby and Shaggy.
"Let's see who our ghost is," Fred announced as he reached out to pull of
the ghost's mask. He grabbed the wolf's ear, and gave it a good, hard tug.
The mask popped off easily, revealing the face of . . . Sandi Ling! The
director of "Coast to Coast"! The gang gasped. Before the gang could say
anything, she spoke.
"I was tired of Daph and Sabrina getting all the spotlight," she grumbled.
"Well, they ARE the stars," Fred replied.
"I know, I know. But I got real angry when I found out that they could sing,
too! I heard them singing one day after work when they were packing up to go
home one day. They sounded so good I knew that they would soon be
discovered. I got real jealous because I knew now that they weren't just TV
stars, they're music stars as well! I couldn't stand it!" Sandi confessed.
"How did you float?" Savvie asked.
"Wires," Sandi replied.
"How did you throw shocks?" Fred asked.
Sandi pulled back her sleeve, and revealed a strange machine on her arm.
"It's a long range stun-gun I invented. It can throw a shock from twenty
feet away," Sandi said.
"But when you were hit, it didn't effect you," Velma said.
"I was wearing a protective vest," Sandi replied.
"The vibrations?" Shaggy questioned.
"I had a tiny microphone in the mask of my costume. It was part of a system
of speakers I set up around the studio. They were turned up so high that
when I howled, the speakers would make the place vibrate," Sandi answered.
"And the mind reading?" Fred asked.
"I took pshycology classes. Then I put a machine in my mask that could read
your messages that you sent me through thought," Sandi replied.
With that, the gang called the authorities, and they came and took Sandi
away.
"Let's go check on the girls," Fred said. They got into the Mystery Machine,
and drove to the hospital.
Daphne awakened slowly. Her vision was blurry from sleep. Then she squinted,
and saw something familiar sitting by her bed. She grinned.
"Fred!" Daphne said happily.
"It was Sandi," he replied.
"Of 'Coast to Coast'?" Daphne said.
Sabbs was now awake, and the gang explained their story.
"It's great to know that you're okay," Sabbs said, hugging Madison.
"Same to you," Madison said, hugging her back. Then he blushed when he
noticed that evryone was looking at them. Daphne giggled, a romantic look
twinkling in her soft blue eyes. Fred put his hand on her shoulder, Daphne
looked at him, thoses soft eyes still twinkling happily. Fred gave her the
same loving look. Daphne shoved herself into his arms, and shoved her head
up under Fred's chin. Fred sighed, and wrapped his arms around her, and
closed his eyes.
"Awwwww . . . how sweet!" Shaggy said dreamily.
Then the four sared at him with disbelief. They let go of each other, and
just stared.
Fred and Daphne's faces were just inches from each other. Then the pair
stared into each other's eyes. The romantic look still showed.
Just then Shaggy swadled over. "Like, that was some mystery, eh, Freddy?"
Shaggy said, giving Fred a good backslap.
The sudden backslap sent Fred into Daphne, resulting in an instant lip lock.
Everyone knew that one day that the kiss between Daphne and Fred would happen. But no one thought or pictured it being in a hospital room.
The others glance at them, then looked the other way. Their lip lock ended. They gave a look to Shaggy. They knew that he helped them. By the kiss, they knew that they would move forward from there, together.
Madison paid no attention to that. He sat on the right side of Sabrina's bed and looked into her eyes. "I know you must be mad at me for being an idiot, considering what I did." Sabri said.
"Me, mad at you? That will never happen." Madison said. "That's so nice to hear that. Did you get upset after I was hit? What did you do? What happened?" Sabrina asked.
"I didn't do anything. I stood there, frozen. I couldn't believe what happened. I don't really remember much. It happened so fast. But I did shed a few tears." Madison said. Sabrina did crack a little smile. "But Velma wasn't all too happy with your actions." Madison said.
"I wasn't in the right frame of mind and I'm sorry for that. You didn't have to cry for me. Yeah, I was out cold, but I wasn't dead. You want to know why?" Sabrina said. Madison grabbed her hands from her legs and held them.
"Yeah, I do. Please tell me." Madison said. "Because the only person that was coaching me to come back to this word, was you. Even though you weren't her with me." Sabrina said.
"I knew you wanted to be here with Daphne and that was the only way out for ya huh?" He asked. "Yeah, I guess it was. But, I heard you had a fantastic idea, to capture the, uh, thing." Sabri said.
"It was a wolf ghost, not a thing. And it worked." Madison said. "Sorry. That's great. At least something worked." Sabrina said, laughing. It hurt a lot to laugh.
It made Madison's day and it made him smile also. It made her happy too. "It's great to hear you laugh again. I've got to ask this, and it's been bugging me, but how did that electric shock feel?" He asked.
"It didn't feel terrific, that's for darn sure. But, Daphne and I are luck that we didn't die on you guys." Sabri said.
"Yeah, thank goodness." Savvie said. Savvie walked up to Sabrina and gave her a big hug. "If you two were dead, I don't know where Velma or I would be." Savvie said. "But we're not dead, aren't we?" Daph asked.
"No." Savvie said, starting to cry. She went to her sister's arms and cried. "There's nothing to worry about." Daphne said.
"Well, that solves another mystery gang." Fred announced, interrupting. Two doctors came in the room with wonderfull news. Everyone turned to them.
"Hello everyone. We've come with great news. Miss Blake and Miss Dinkley are recovering quite nicely. And sooner than we expected." The first doctor said. "What he means is that you will be released in five days and not two or more weeks." THe other said.
"That's great." Madison said, looking at Sabrina. "Thank you." Fred said. The doctors left the room.
"Did you hear that girls, you're gonna leave soon." Fred said. "That's the best news all day." Daph said. "Now we've got to look for a new director." Sabrina said.
"Got that right!" Daph said. "And it isn't going to be an easy task." She continued. Everyone started laughing. Except for Sabri and Daphne. It hurt them to much, physically.
Kavia showed up. "Hey Daph, hello Sabri. The studio's a mess. But I'm glad that you two are doing a-okay." Kavia said. "Well, it really hurt a lot, but we're lucky we aren't dead." Daph said.
"As good as you know we are at singing, as badly as we want to sing for people and all that good stuff, we can't be singers anymore. There's too much happening. We've got to hire a new employee, we've got to recover. We really hate to disappoint you Miss. McMillian, but we're withdrawing from the music business and sticking with the television business." Sabri explained. Madison put an arm around Sabrina, holding her close.
"It's totally understandable. Since the radio's destroyed, we can't do anything. We've got to rebuild it. And we don't have enough money to do so." Kavia said. Daphne and Sabrina came up with a great idea.
"Kavia, if you'll let us, we'll help you pay all expenses that are needed to build a new radio station." Daphne said. "You'd do that?" She asked. "Of course. Even though it's partly our faults for being injured, we want to do something great and wonderful for you and for the town in Salem." Sabrina said.
"We're considerate, nice people and we want to help you." Velma said, vouching for the girls. "What do you say Kavia?" Fred asked. "On behalf of the radio station, we're going to accept your help. How do I ever repay you?" Kavia replied.
"You don't have to repay us. Our help in funding the rebuilding of your radio station is the only thing that you can repay us for." Savvie said. Kavia shook everyone's hand and left them alone. "Do you think that was a good idea?" Fred asked.
"Fred, she lost her radio station, we can atleast help pay her back by funding the rebuilding of a new radio station. That's the least we can do." Daphne said.
Five days later, Daphne and Sabrina were able to leave the hospital. They even hired a new director, Savvie's boyfriend, Raridan.
And boy was Savvie really happy! Fred and Madison kept a very close eye on Daphne and Sabrina over the next few weeks.
