Jakob Dylan
"I don't care how people perceive me, because I know what my music has been worth." (Musician Magazine)
"Well, you know, to be called yummy is a fantastic honor and I appreciate it being given to me. I'm going to do everything I can to continue to face up to that and not let anyone down in the future." (Rolling Stone)
"Nothing says love like a frog."
"Whem I'm hungry, nearby is my favorite food." (Harper's Bazaar)
"I like being in a group, I've always liked groups. I think groups are great."'
"Songs are like colouring books."
"We don't have any rehearsed banter or a light show or anything like that. It's mainly just a music show. Plus the occasional mud wrestling."
"Nobody's house is heaven. That's what Heaven is for."
"I've been influenced by everything from Tom Waits to Sam Cooke, Willie Nelson, Carter family music, the Beatles, all kinds of stuff."
Rami Jaffee
"Fate has worked out perfectly, and we're really focused and psyched to do the next record." (Musician Magazine)
"When it comes to dances, we do not stand on the side."
"The oddest things happen on tour."
"I wish it would just take a couple of Mentos, you turn around, smile, and everything's done."
"Oh no, no gin soaked olive?!"
Michael Ward
"I'm fantatical about cycling. I try to ride three or four hours a day if I can, and that's like three or four hours I don't talk to anybody. It's just me and my body and my bike, and I love it." (Musician Magazine)
I think everyone grew up with their own influences and that's sort of the magic of the Wallflowers. We get together and throw it all in the pot and let it simmer."
"We need to hit it big in Paris so that my wife can go shopping."
"I guess we've all kind of done music since we were wee lads. I started
in Minneapolis when I was about 10, playing guitar, and relocated to Los
Angeles in search of Jakob Dylan at about age 18, and it only took about
10 years to hook it up, so that's not too bad."
Mario Calire
"I totally agree with Moby in that radio used to be more diverse and eclectic, and it still should be today, but I do think there's room for bands like us."
"The fatigue is just too much to deal with, let alone throwing booze or
whatever on top of it. Even the second-hand smoke is starting to bother
me."
"I don't take any of it for granted. This is my dream, and I'm living
it. I always wanted to go out on the road and play music and do like my
dad did."
"Exploring the city, though, can help get rid of some of the tedium of
the road. Get out and go to a museum, go to a bookstore, walk around.
You can get stuck in some weird places, and in the winter you can get
snowed in, which can get brutal. But usually it works out that you get a
day or two off in a cool place. Obviously it you're in New York on a day
off you're going to have a good time. As for other places, you just have
to explore, and that can be part of the fun of being on the road."
"You can never have too many T-shirts, socks and underwear."
Greg Richling
"It's pretty bold to say that because somebody is young they dont' have a clue. Young kids discovered the Beatles, and nobody's saying their records sucked." (Musician Magazine)
"I think in the sense that you can get out of [lyrics] what you get out of it. I'm sure the same songs has a lot of different meanings to a lot of different people."
"Mario and I are the foundation, sort of a bedrock."
