Niniane in The Child Queen
and The High Queen by Nancy McKenzie
This is another of those stories
told through the viewpoint of Guenivere that, like many others, takes a
lot from Mary Stewart and Marion Zimmer Bradley. However, regardless
of everything else, it's a fairly good story. Niniane in it is Merlin's
lover and, straight from Mary Stewart, accidentally buries him alive and
regrets it for the rest of her life, or the rest of her life without that
cute guy Pelleas. She also helps Arthur, gets rid of Morgan, etc.
all according to Malory. Not bad.
