Hi, I am a Korean who loves soccer and I have watched the Bra vs Turk World Cup match. As a Korean who always loves turkey soccer, I was totally shocked when Brasil took a 2:1 lead. I know that the turkish people have a lot of hate toward the Korean referee and I totally understand why. Rivaldo's 'hollywood action' was worth more than 5 red cards. Instead, the Korean ref drew a red card on the turkish side. To make the matter worse, before this incident occured, the same ref drew a very 'questionable' red card on another turkish player. 2 bad calls were enough to let brasil steal a win or draw from the turkish team. I write this on behave of the korean people. Koreans love the turkish people and consider them as forever friends. We respect you and we are very sorry for the bad calls the Korean ref made on your team. Even though the turkish side drew 1;1 with CostaRica today, I believe that the turkish team led by Davor Suker(best foward in the world) will win the final match and make it to the second round. Please do not hate us. The ref was only human and humans always make mistakes. We Korean soccer fans love the turkish people and would like to keep the warm bond between the two peoples. Good luck to the turkish team!!! Let South Korea and Turkey meet in the world cup finals!!!

Firstly I will start by congratulating you on your web site, at last I have found a site that reports on Turkey in a positive light. So far every report I read insists on highlighting the short comings of the opposition as a reason for Turkey winning...... No one can take what Turkey have achieved away from the team, from Turkey or from those millions like myself living outside of Turkey. Every single one of those players (yes... even Sukur) deserves to be in the position theyre in, they have got there because on the day they were the better team and showed everyone that when they fulfill their potential theyre unstoppable!

I am a Turkish Cypriot living in North London and would just like to say that where I have always been proud to call myself a Turk nothing can beat the elation and patriotism I and many other London based Cypriots felt on Saturday afternoon after beating Senegal, proud to be Turkish was an understatement. To see the team walk out at the beginning of the championships against Brazil was amazing in its self, however for them to get to the Semi Finals when they had been written off every step of the way, and in the manner they did it was truly amazing and quite literally history in the making! I would just like to join in and say thanks to all the players for giving this to us and I will pray for them on Wednesday........ Brazil.... HERE WE COME!

Hopefully all the media and press will begin to write and show Turkey in a more positive way, highlighting there obvious talent on the pitch as oppossed to all the negativity that seems to always gain more attention.

I am japanese second generation born in Brazil, living in Sao Paulo, a city grown by hands of many people from many different countries.
How wonderfull was that turkish soccer player at the end of the game joing turkish players and korean players to thank all people in the stadium !!!
I could feel that that player ( I'm sorry, I'm not sure if he was Sukur, the great player. I would be happy if you tell me) is really great. I mean, morally grate, a grate person, a grate heart, a rare person who can understand what sport is.
What competition is. People like him make this international great party ( World Cup) be really wonderfull.
I hope more and more people could understand that sport (specially the World Cup) can join people of all countries, know people from many countries, in order to spread love in the world.

Thanks once again for this site and an even bigger thank you to the Turkish team... Not only did they prove themselves to be a major force in world football but the scenes at the end of the S. Korean game where the Turkish players joined the Koreans in thanking the fans showed great sportmanship not normally witnessed anywhere in football.

The team deserve every accolade that they recieve and the welcome they recieved last night on arriving in Turkey was fully deserved, they are true heroes, everyone of them. Watching the scenes last night were amazing and once again the team gave us another reason to hold are heads high and be proud to be Turkish!

Being a young team lets hope Turkey can build on this success and go all the way in Euro 2004, they are more than capable and I am sure already have their prospective rivals worried...... ENGLAND HERE WE COME!

Once more a VERY BIG THANK YOU to the Turkish national team..... YOU WERE BRILLIANT!

I have to start this e-mail saying that it is not a funny or ironic letter.
I'm brazilian and everything that's written here is true and I really mean it. I saw some of the comments from people all over the world, and I know it sounds strange but a lot ( really a lot) of brazilians share the same opinion. The first game was a stupid joke. But I hope you don't have the wrong impression about all brazilians.
Hi....my name is .... ...., I'm a woman, 31 years old, big soccer fan and I live in São Paulo/ Brazil. After the World Cup, I became a great fan of Turkish soccer. (not only me, but most of brazilians). I was very ashamed of the brazilians players behave in the first game. I'm sorry and not all brazilians are proud of that game. It was sure that brazilians were not fair playing at all. You were the best team we playing against to.
And I also want to thank Turkey not only for the great soccer, but also for the excelent gesture of Sukür in the game against Korea. That celebration was great and he was by far the nicest player in the World Cup.
You have a great team and I hope to see Turkey doing better each time. But please, next time convince the coach to put Mansiz and Sukür together. I'm sure Brazil wouldn't have won if the 2 players were playing against us (but I think Hasan Sas has to be on the team too...he's great). Ilhan Mansiz is one of the best players I have seen lately. I hope to hear a lot from him. He became famous here (after what he did to Roberto Carlos in the first game.....great!!!!!!!!!).
I don't if it's possible, but I want to keep in touch with you and what's going on on Turkish soccer.
