It's finally up folks. My newest pride and joy. This exquisite garment is none other than an Authentic 2001 KOHO Road (nee 3rd/Alternate) Pittsburgh Penguins Jersey. Note the faint visibility of the fight strap. A size 52 made in Feb. 2001. Although the jersey seems flawless, it's had its share of problems. First the good news: Looks great alignment wise, correct "C" patch and customization features glacier twill fabric. Now the bad news: Customized by House o' Hockey out of Pittsburgh took 4 weeks, lots of loose threads and to top it off, the glacier twill fabric on the "C" patch is not sewn on! It's held on by some sort of glue! Unbelievable....it's like a 99 outta 100....got everything right except for a lil' small detail. Argh...made me so mad. You guys be the judge.

The above photos represent one of my finest pieces. This is an Authentic 1995-96 CCM Home Pittsburgh Penguins Jersey. Size 54, manufactured in April, 1996, about the same time Pens were playing the Caps in the Playoffs. This gem of a jersey was made by River City Sports. Well, after many requests on how to get jerseys, here are some pointers:

For those looking for authentics, always get them customized, 'cuz there's no point in getting an expensive awesome jersey complete with fighter strap then have nothing to show for it on the back.

- To obtain an authentic jersey, one can can always get the best deals at either River City Sports. There, 2000-2001 CCM/KOHO/JOFA Pro jerseys start at $160 US without customization. They also have old jerseys from past years such as CCM, Bauer, Nike, Starter, and Pro Player.

- Another site that sells pro jerseys at a good bargain is Royal Sports. I do believe they're having a special on the new jerseys, starting at $110 (not anymore :-(...that price is for the old jerseys).

- Last but not least, if you bid smartly, try eBay. Here you can get good deals, but watch out, some tend to put up replicas and sell them as authentics.

Well...this will all change since Mario promotes all things Nike. I must surrender and admit that Nike's Quest line is very nice. That new Zero-G stick feels like nothing and who can resist that lobster tail on those sweet gloves? I feel like such a shill - "The best stuff is always the most expensive."
