Politically Correct or Biblically Correct?!

Through the years we have seen the legalization of abortion and, what seems to be, the acceptance of homosexuality. Recently, a child was able to be adopted by a gay couple for the first time in NJ. One person I know made the comment; "That little boy is lucky to have a 'family' that loves him." What do you say to that? Do you say anything at all? Do you side with the Politically Correct view that it is an alternative lifestyle and that they are simply 2 people in love? Do you side with the Creator?

Well, no matter how you slice it, homosexuality is a sin. In First Corinthians it is written that homosexuals, among others, will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9,10 "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Don't not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

That does not mean that God doesn't love those who do such things-God does love them but He hates their sin. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." God loves this world. He loves you and I. He does not say that He only loves this group or that group (Romans 10:12). He loves us all and wants desperately for us to come to Him, to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. He wants us to experience and live in the fullness of His unconditional love.

Not to be forgotten that in 1 John it says, "We love because He first loved us. If someone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother, who he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also." So simply because someone is a homosexual, or black, or white or has 2 left feet, does not allow for the feelings of hate toward them or anyone.

I went to the Bring Back The Joy, Women of Faith Conference last year. Shiela Walsh spoke the first evening. She challenged us to imagine that our lives are one big movie for all the world to see with no editing or lowering of volume. Every deed and every word could be seen and heard by all. OUCH!!! That would hurt huh?! Well, God has seen that movie! -He loves us anyway-He loves YOU anyway!

However, because God is a loving and forgiving Father, that doesn't mean that we should take advantage of His mercy and forgiveness.

Proverbs 14:27 "The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death." To add to that. . . Romans 6:23 "The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Since the legalization of abortion, on Jan 22, 1973, countless numbers of beautiful babies have been murdered with our Governments approval. Maybe someone that you know, or perhaps even you, have had an abortion. Some might say that it's not a child yet but those people would be WRONG!

Psalms 139:13-16 "For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my Mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be."

It is important to note that abortion isn't a physical issue but a spiritual issue. Abortion comes to be never because a woman wants to have one, but because her circumstances have brought her to that point and she feels that there's no other way out.

The truth is that GOD is the way out! God never said that life would be easy but He did say that He would see you through it! Noone but the Father truly knows all of your travails. He knows what is best for us. You see, if we had not had the pre-marital sex or if we had not done the drugs or if we had not done this or that then the consequences would be null. He created the Heavens and the Earth. He created you and I. He created the awesome beauty in one single red rose. What would make you think that He can't handle your life's troubles?? What would make you think that He doesn't know what is best for us??

It is true that God gave us a free will but, He did not give it to us so we can then bury ourselves among dirt and drama. In talking with some people, I was told that we are no better than animals and they are put to sleep everyday in this country. I was told that we are just as important as they and a comparisson was made of the value of human life to the value of animal life. Well, WRONG AGAIN! (Psalms 8) We are made in God's IMAGE. Killing a human being is destroying the image of God while killing an animal is not. By no means am I saying for anyone to go out and kill an animal. I am saying that you cannot compare the Image of the Almighty to that of an animal. Matthew 6 says that we are worth much more than these. Taking the life of a pre-born child is the diminishing of God's Image in the Mother's womb

Genesis 9:6

"Whoever sheds mans blood, by man his blood shall be shed. For in the image of God He made man."

We are simply the creation. How can we, the created, kill God's Image? We have no authority to take life. Abortion would make us, in fact, God. Only our Creator can give and take life. God has set forth guidlines for us. None of them are intended to hinder us but to enhance our quality of living and our relationship with Him. The Bible is our instuction manuel. When we have a dilemma we should run to it and heed its words. Cherish what God has provided. Bask in the love that He freely gives to you. God is our Daddy, our parent, and He wants what is best for His children. The laws of this country have swayed for years. A short time ago our nation feared, loved and obeyed God, just look at your money- In God We Trust! Today our country believes in "live and let live." Christ calls us to be set apart from the world, don't be influenced by it's foolishness.( 1 Cor. 3:19) Follow the Creator not the creation!
