How he was acquired:  Scott was drafted by the New Jersey Devils (their second choice) with the 27th overall pick in the 1998 draft

-Was named the NHL's 1999-2000 Rookie of the Year
-Was named to the NHL's All-Rookie Team
-Was named NHL Rookie of the Month for November 1999
-Represented North America at the 2000 All-star Game in Toronto, becoming only the 3rd New Jersey Devil rookie selected to play (Kirk Muller in 1985 and Sean Burke in 1989)
-Appeared in his first NHL game on October 2, 1999, against the Atlanta Thrashers
-Posted his first NHL point, an assist, October 7, 1999 versus the Pittsburgh Penguins
-Scored his first NHL goal on October 16, 1999 against the New York Islanders
-Was the first Hispanic player ever to be drafted in the first round and only the 18th Alaskan ever drafted
