RC Reynolds

Over the years RC has received many awards See list at bottom of page!

Where are you from?    Born in Douglas AZ , Raised in Bisbee, Safford, and Thatcher AZ.

Where are you from now?  We call Lubbock TX home, but only receive  our mail there. We live on the road full time 365.

What do you do in Desert Reign?  I am the leader of Desert Reign. I play lead guitar, and mandolin,  I  Preach when called upon, handle booking, coordinate travel and routing, Sound engineer, produce, and master recordings for CD projects,  and keep up on all of the maintenance on the equipment and vehicles.

How long have you been playing music?  I started when I was 9. I never really got serious about music until I was in my 20's. I played in country music for 10 years on the road with many different groups and started a group called Shilow in 1985. We played full time all over the US until 1989 when we moved to Morenci AZ to work in the mining industry. We quit for many years, and finally in 1996 the Lord convinced me to start playing again and have been ever since.

What Instruments do you play?  Lead Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, harmonica, and some drums.

What is your favorite instrument and brand?  I love to play lead guitar,  Fender Telecaster is my electric instrument of choice but I have found that different styles require different sounds, in many cases a Les Paul  or Fender Stratocaster, fits the bill, My favorite acoustic guitar would be a Gibson Songwriter, I currently play a Martin which is nice but I've never heard a better sound than the Songwriter.

Who are your influences in music? The Biggest influence in my life is the Hag, Merle Haggard is what I grew up on, but I'm also a big fan of Ray Price, Vince Gill, Jim Reeves, and Marty Robbins.

What did you do before full time ministry?  I left home in 1978 and joined the Army, I served for 6 years. After leaving the military I played music here and there while working as a Mobile Home hauler and set up guy, remodeled motels, Worked as a welder for Morgan truck bodies, and finally in 1990 I went to work for Phelps Dodge Mining Corporation, where I held many positions, Truck Driver, Shovel and Drill Mechanic, Dozer, Loader, Grader operator, and finally a supervisor over Road Maintenance.

How long have you been a minister?  Minister, boy I never thought I would be called that, but that's what I am!  The Lord called me into ministry in 1996, I became an Ordained Minister in 1999.

How Long have you been saved?  14 years now.

What do you think is the secret to a successful ministry?  In a word? I guess it would be Submission! Not only to God but to each other. The fact is God is in control, so we don't try to control the ministry. I can't tell you how many times we've wanted to minister some place and doors just close. God would not let us go there! If you listen he will guide, doors will open, and the path will be clear.
