#4: Kelleher Chris is one of our co-captains. I don't know that much about him, except he's also a defenseman. If I ever find out anything interesting about him, I'll let you know. Last I heard, the Penguins wanted him, but I don't know what happened with that.
#10: Donatelli Poor Pete, we all seem to forget about him. He's a good player, though he didn't see much time on the ice this year. They even forgot to put his feature article in the program book this year. Oops. I have no idea where he's going, or if he's going anywhere at all after this season.
#15: Sylvia My roommate-to-be and I went to an away game against Northeastern, and we ended up with front row seats by the goal cage. Mike Sylvia was right in front of us when he took a shot. It was an awesome thing to see the look on his face when that shot went in the net. He was so excited and his face showed it. Over the summer, he was invited to Rangers camp, but I don't think he's playing for them. So, I don't know what happened to him, either. I'm so well informed, eh?
#18: Drury Chris has just been named Hockey East Player of the year for the second year in a row. He's the other captain, and he's one of the nominees for the prestigious Hobey Baker award. But before there was hockey, there was the 1989 Little League World Series. In this series, little Chris Drury was the pitcher for the winning team, making him RHPS #1's "All-American Little League Hero." And after the game my roommate and I went to, he was the last to skate off the ice. We were the only fans left in jerseys that were by the exit. He saw us cheering, and saluted us with his stick. The Drury salute was one of the highlights of the night. Drafted in 1994, Chris will be heading out to play for the Colorado Avalanche.
#20: Kealty Jeff's tall. Really tall. Like 6'4" tall. He's good, and he's tall. His shaft is probably as immense as Poti's (see #5), since he's taller than Poti. Have I mentioned he's tall? Speaking of tall, that's RHPS #1's big thing. If you want to stand a chance with her, I recommend you break the "6-foot barrier". And nice shoulders couldn't hurt, either. Anyhoo, Jeff was supposed to be going to Colorado, too, though I don't think he did.
#30: Noble Take a look at the face on the left. Go on, look. That, children, is what is known as the "F***-Me Smirk." Tommy Noble is an expert at it. He can even smirk like that while chawin' on the bubble gum. RHPS #2 swears he has a revolving bedroom door to make things easier for the ladies. It's also all his fault Michel's been in the net so much, because on the 21st he bruised his five-hole -- er, "pulled his hamstring." Sadly, the Good Reverend isn't very good at foreign languages. He made it to fourth semester Spanish, and the only word of the language he could say was "hola." "Ho.....ho....shit, what was the other half of that word?....Ho.......LA!! HoLA!!" He's also the only hockey player slick enough to take two of the same course in the same semester and get full credit for them both. Big thanks to those of you who found Tommy for me. He's in the net for the Pensacola Ice Pilots Be sure to check the fan photo album!
#5: Poti Tom's a spohomore defenseman, and he has been drafted by the Edmonton Oilers. He's a great player who I liked to watch because he was so skilled. Unfortuneately, he signed with emonton on July 3rd. So, we wish him luck in the NHL, where he's expected to be nothing short of phenomenal. Here's an article from a Canadian sports page (canoe's Slam! Sports):
Oilers sign star collegian
EDMONTON (CP) -- The Edmonton Oilers bolstered their blue-line
Friday with a U.S. collegian touted to become a star in the NHL.
Tom Poti, 6-3 and 215 pounds, scored 13 goals and added 29
assists in 38 games for Boston University last season. The 21-year-old
was a plus-23 and named to the NCAA East All-American team.
In a news release Friday, the Oilers described Poti as "the best
defenceman outside the National Hockey League."
The release also said Poti, a third-round draft choice in 1996,
"possess all the attributes to become a superstar in the NHL."
If that weren't enough, Oilers director of player personnel Kevin
Prendergast said Poti is the most skilled player to be signed by the
Oilers in the past decade.
"I hate to put pressure on this kid but he really is something very
special," said Prendergast.

#2: Ronan According to one of his teammates, Dan's "The best fifth-best defenseman we have." But now that we've lost about three of those five defensemen, I think he gets bumped up to second by default, at least until the freshmen prove themselves... Ah, Ronan, Master of the Hip Check. You don't see that much these days. He's also one of the assistant captains.
#6: O'Connell Albie's our captain this year, and he's not too shabby. I still don't have much to say about him, so let's hope I find something to say during the season. Oh, there is an interesting story from last year, but I don't think I want to share, unless you ask nicely...
Actually, just got an Albie story update. A friend of Tumbleweed's and mine was walking home from the library, and she gets to one particulaly lousy intersection (although all intersections in Boston are particularly lousy) where Storrow Drive dumps into Bay State Rd. A car comes barreling off Storrow, through the green light, and then stops. Driver then looks friend up and down. Who was that masked man? Yup. Albie O'Connell. She burst into our room tonight and told Tumbleweed, "I feel like I've been raped!" Well, they don't call it the "Rape Bridge" for nothing!
