History of the Gunslinger (1997-2000)

Along with the beautiful Tanya Jewell, The Gunslinger broke into e-wrestling in October of 1997. He signed on with Ultimate Online Wrestling, and eventually joined his old training partner, Texas Terror, to form the Alliance of Defiance. Soon after, Gunslinger captured his first professional title, when he defeated Billy Chase for the UOW United States Championship. Eventually, Ultimate Online Wrestling closed its doors and the aOd moved on to Universal Championship Wrestling.

The aOd met with even more success in this federation, but eventually Terror was injured in a cage match, and Gunslinger founded the aOd TasK Force. The UCW eventually closed down and the aOd was forced to move on to the Universal Wrestling Organization. Gunslinger established himself as one of the top stars of the fed by capturing both the Television Championship and eventually the World Heavyweight Championship defeating his former friend turned nemesis, The Texas Terror. At this time, Gunslinger also joined up with the South East Wrestling Organization. He aligned himself with a group calling themselves the Wreckless Youth, and helped them to become the SEWA's first Stable Champions. He captured the SEWA World Championship and became embattled in a bitter rivalry with "Kamikaze" Ben Hickey. Gunslinger lost the title, but re-captured it a week later. The SEWA came to an abrubt halt and Gunslinger was forced to look for another organization.

He decided to enter The Clash of Champions Wrestling organization and quickly made his presence felt by capturing the United States Title. He continued to hold the title until he left the organization. Gunslinger also continued to compete in the UWO, and even managed to patch things up with Texas Terror. The Alliance of Defiance was set for a re-birth when the unthinkable happened. While on a private jet, Gunslinger was involved in a terrible crash. Many thought he was dead. However, Gunslinger resurfaced in the ICWL and quickly garnered the organization's World Championship before the organization was forced to close. Gunslinger decided to step back from wrestling, and focus on his family. However, the fire still burned inside and Gunslinger has once again come back to the wrestling world.

Six months after stepping away from the sport that he loved so much, Gunslinger decided it was time to return to the ring. He signed a contract with the Universal Wrestling Corporation and began another fued with Armageddon and Billy Chase. This fued continued until the UWC president, Mickey Styles, announced that the fed would merge with the Extreme Wrestling Federation to form the Universal Extreme Wrestling Corporation. After joining the UEWC in April of 2000, Gunslinger alligned himself with the likes of "Toetagger" Tony Eriole and Mike Law, while fueding with the likes of DOOM, the Corporate World Order, as well as Armageddon and Billy Chase.

In June, Gunslinger spoke with Armageddon, Mickey Styles, and Simon Deamonte. After the meeting, Gunslinger reformed the Alliance of Defiance within the U.W.E.F. After re-forming the aOd, Gunslinger retired the U.W.C. World Tag-Team Titles that he had held with "Toetagger" Tony Eriole. At the following PPV, Gunslinger and Armageddon wrestled for the UEWC World Tag-Team Titles. Armageddon and Gunslinger managed to capture the Tag Titles, but in a sudden turn of events, lost them in a following match to the Hardcore Homies. A few weeks later the U.W.E.F. decided to merge with another organization to form Prime Time Wrestling Association.

July 30, 2000, Gunslinger made his PTWA debut at Prime Time Sunday, when he attacked a wrestler named Masada during the show. Abrubtly, the PTWA closed, and Gunslinger was again forced to shop his services. Gunslinger wound up in the All Star Wrestling Alliance, where he signed a 6 month contract. Gunslinger made his ASWA debut on Tuesday Turbo, and signed a match for the ASWA Intercontinental Title at the PPV that took place on August, 27 2000. However, Gunslinger lost the match.

The month of September was a busy month for Gunslinger. Gunslinger re-formed the Alliance of Defiance with Armageddon and Billy Chase. Gunslinger also captured the ASWA North American Title on September 12, 2000.

On October 28, 2000 Gunslinger signed a contract with the Y2KWF. Also, Gunslinger continued his reign as ASWA North American Champion, however, Gunslinger changed the belt's name to New Mexican Heavyweight Title in honor of his home state. On October 29th, Gunslinger and Armageddon faced Damage Inc. in a match for the ASWA World Tag Team Titles. The Task Force managed to win the ASWA Tag Team Titles. The month of November was a hard month for the ASWA, a wrestler was shot and the fed was temporarily closed. December 7, 2000 was the scheduled re-open date for the fed. On a side note, Gunslinger ended his contract with the Y2KWF when the organization closed its doors.

On December 31, 2000, Gunslinger vacated the ASWA North American Title so that he could concentrate on capturing the ASWA World Heavyweight Title heading into the new year.
