This page is mainly for my benefit and to give my friends and I a quiet, relaxed place to go. With luck, I shall succeed ~smile~

About me? Well I'm 40 years old, divorced, 3 children, (2 of whom are now "grown")and can be as stubborn as the day is long. I am not alone in that! ~chuckle~ I cannot believe I finally hit the big 4-0--where the heck does the time go?! I love all kinds of music, but admit to partiality to Swing and Big Band, with a good bit of rock thrown in (Gawd, what a mix) ~wink~ But, then again, what can I say? My taste in music reflects the rest of me eclectic as all get out. Want to know more? Simple, really. Ask me. ~smile~

Those of ya that know me know my name is Miki. I have dark eyes and long hair. I'm really very shy..*hey you guys quit laughing...I AM*...until I get to know you, anyway.~grin~ And those that don't know me?? You'll learn--LOL-- I have a very wicked sense of humor and though I am easily embarrassed, it's very difficult to offend me. But when you do--trust me on this, you'll know it as I grant, nor ask, any quarter.

A lot of things have changed the past few years. Those of you closest to me know about my mother's battle with Alzheimer's Disease--something I wouldn't wish on someone I actively hated-- and the slow, painful loss of her by inches while I cared for her. I guess that's what's known as a "mixed blessing" when she finally left this world, took Daddy's hand, and walked with him into forever. The two are finally together again--it was a long twenty year wait. I almost envy that kind of love.

Then there were the issues between my siblings and myself. ~shrug~ No one ever said you got to choose your family, but good grief! It's hardly my fault that I draw breath. Some bitterness there, but well, I am a firm believer in Karma, so I choose not to carry that with me and give it only a passing mention. Life is too precious and too short to dwell on things we cannot change and I have long since learned you cannot make someone love you. You can make yourself loveable, you can be receptive to affection and you can love them yourself. But nothing you can do or say will ever *make* someone feel something they do not feel, so quit beating your head against a wall. You're only hurting yourself.

Then there was the move to Florida and oh my gracious!!! What a trying time ~chuckle~ But I managed it! 30 days to move 40 *years* worth of memories and accumulated "stuff"! ~proud of myself grin~ Sold what I could, packed what we couldn't (hey, this sounds like a song I know) and hit the road, me, three kids, three dogs and whatever we could manage to get into our car, the rest in storage or UPS transit.
I must say that while Tampa is beautiful, it's HUMID--quite a culture shock for we 4 desert dwellers!-- I love the beaches, hate the bugs and miss the mountains of home with a physical ache that doesn't seem to abate. ~sigh~

Would you believe I actually MISS SNOW?! I would never have thought I would say that, heat seeker that I am. (smacks a few minds to a loftier level--behave yourselves, I'm serious, here)I like the warmth down here, but I long for the winter, heck any of the other 4 seasons, for that matter! I truly miss spring ~soft smile~ the scent of lilac in bloom in the backyard, the daffodils and tulips in my garden, the iris peeking their green leaves up from the corms and saying "Hey! Looks like summer's comin'!" Ah well, this too shall pass--right?

As I said this place is always bein' worked on, when I can find time, these days--and remember my login ~wry grin~ Thank Heaven for FAQ! ~chuckle~ Teach ME to take a 2 year hiatus from the 'net, huh? But I am slowly finding myself back in the flow of things.

Now, about where I hung out--well to be blunt, its not for everyone. And, unfortunately, is now defunct--notes that 2 year hiatus once again. But for those of you that hung out with me, this is old news..~wry chuckle~ HOWEVER--i *am* the sweet and innocent one--~bats lashes and glares at nicole autumn ...hush you...~wicked lil grin~...je t'adore, ma soeur ~hugtight~ You and Michael and saucy and Ruthie--some days I don't know what I would have done without you in my life.

I have found something new! Ironically, due to a post on the AR boards--sometimes even negativity can turn into something positive (and if ANYONE tells ~doll~ I said that--I'll have to hurt you! I still can't stand her, flaming or otherwise ~gentle smile~ )I now have a Second Life. So, for you naysayers and eye rollers--keep right on 'a' goin'-- I am truly enjoying myself for the first time in can't remember how long. It isn't the same as my old Gorean stomping grounds or the BDSM scene-you can find that anywhere. I haven't even bothered to look, but I know they both have a large presence (somehow it always finds me)-but you know what? It's better in so many ways. I got lucky the night I landed at the Moonlight and met Grunt and Chief and Mya. From there I met some of the most wonderful people you could imagine. In a decade of online life, finally--FINALLY, I have found something that suits *me*. Gives this jaded old heart some faith in humanity once again.

Have fun and as I add more to it and get all my links up and goin, surf around and have a good time. I added an updated page of my bratlings and a page for my stories, new ones *chuckle* They may not be great, but they're mine. My heart put on paper, if you will. ~sappy grin~ yeah, yeah, I know it. I'm a sentimental, emotional wench...so sue me ~wink~
