The following pages are pictures taken on several streams in Southern Colorado. Many are of the Rio Grande area and some were taken in the Weminuche Wilderness and La Garita Wilderness. Hopefully, this will give you a little taste of the beauty of the Southern Rocky Mountains.
I spent a week hiking and fishing in the area in mid July 2001. The weather was perfect, with very few afternoon rain showers. Ex-FF@ lister Tim Pinnow joined me for part of the trip. Nearly all the fish we caught were on dry flies. I caught only two fish on nymphs the whole week.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. Click on the picture to get the full jpg images. Some of them are definitely worth looking at with better resolution. These were all shot with a Nikon Coolpix 950 digital camera.
