When brought over from Japan, Nelvana changed some of the relationships between characters simply because some of them aren't totally accepted by our society. This section reveals these changes. Unless you don't like spoilers, then stop right here! Otherwise, you've been warned, but enjoy!
Basically some of the relationships (via romantic interest or friend interest) or relations (via family) between Sakura and the other characters have been changed to suit the viewers here in North America. These are the changes:
Regarding Madison/Tomoyo: In the japanese version, Sakura and Tomoyo were best friends and cousins because their mothers were cousins too. Here, she and Madison are just best friends. Tomoyo also had somewhat of an interest in her which went a little beyond friends.
Regarding Tori/Touya: Their relationship hasn't changed much. They're still brother and sister. In the japanese version, Touya called Sakura a monster to tease her. Here, he calls her Squirt.
Regarding Julian/Yukito: In the japanese version, Sakura had a huge crush on Yukito and would always blush around him. They've even gone out on a couple of dates. Here, Sakura doesn't show much interest in Julian, and only went with him places because she would already be going there. (ex. The aquarium to check out the Water Card)
Regarding Li/Syaoran: In both versions, Sakura and Li see each other as rivals when it comes to capturing the Clow Cards. In the japanese version, these two are also in competition in regards with winning the affection of Yukito. (yes, we're not kidding!)
Regarding Meilin/Meiling: Sakura and Meilin's relationship hasn't change from what we've seen and read. In both versions, they don't get along much and Meilin defiantly sees Sakura as the ultimate rival with the Clow Cards. (And in Meilin's opinion, Li's affections.)
Regarding Miss Mackenzie/Mizuki: Nothing changed really, Sakura thinks Miss Mackenzie is cool, doesn't suspect a thing about her until she appears in the premonition like dream.

Regarding Sakura: As stated above, their family relationship of being cousins has been eliminated. In reality back in Japan, it seems Tomoyo possibly has someone of a small crush on Sakura. Evidence is found in Japanese Episode 11, after the Shield Card is captured. Also in the fact she wants to tape all her adventures. At the end manga Volume 2 Chapter 2, Tomoyo and Sakura were watching their parents talk about Nadeshiko, and they were glad that both Fujitaka and Sonomi could talk about her. Tomoyo also told Sakura that she loved her. Of course, Sakura thought it was just friendship and said that she loved her too. But after Sakura left, Tomoyo said, "But, Sakura-chan's meaning is different when she says she loves me..." Click here to see a picture.
Regarding Li/Syaoran: In the original, Tomoyo acts like an "onee-chan," (older sister) to Syaoran, always trying to set him up with Sakura in the Sakura Card Arc, giving advice with him and stuff. In the Sakura Card Arc there were many scenes where Tomoyo was talking to Syaoran, trying to urge him to tell Sakura his feelings. Syaoran was also blushing quite a bit in some of those scenes, because of Sakura. But since the S+S evidence is being erased in the dub, the dialouge of those scenes have been changed, yet Syaoran is still blushing. It sorta seems like Madison likes Li or Li likes Madison now. @_@
All other relationships regarding Tomoyo have basically been left the same.
Regarding Sakura:: His realtionship with Sakura in the Clow Card Arc has been basically the same. In the Sakura Card Arc though, a lot of stuff showing that he likes Sakura has been cut out or changed. They still can't hide Syaoran's blushes though. ^_^
Regarding Julian/Yukito: In the dub, he no longer has a crush on Yukito, 'nuff said. Some of the parts when he was blushing at him were slightly edited in dialouge, such as the end of episodes 8 and 35. Other episodes with him showing he likes Yukito were just not shown.
Regading Meilin/Meiling: They're no longer cousins, or engaged. He still treats Meiling like she's a nuisance though.
All other relationships regarding Syaoran have basically been left the same.
