Adamantium | An artificially created metal that is, for all practical purposes, indestructable. The substance has been bonded to the skeletons of more than one individual, but rarely with success due to the toll the process takes on a living body. Adamantium is prohibitively expensive to produce and thus remains rare. |
Auger Inn | Location: Unknown town, New York A biker bar that has seen better days, but is still among Logan's favorite watering holes. Notable for the jukebox which has songs only by artists that have died in plane accidents (Patsy Cline, Otis Redding, Ricky Nelson, etc). |
Gahck | Female tribal chief of the Tribe of Fire in the Savage Land. Gahck is the mother of one of Logan's known (but as yet unnamed) children. |
Madripoor | Location: Pacific Ocean, SW of Singapore Described by Wolverine as "A jewel of the Pacific. Also one of its cesspools." Technically a principality (like Monaco) with as sharp of a division between the 'haves' and 'have-nots' as can be found anywhere. One of the notable things about Madripoor is its lack of any sort of extradition agreement with any other country. Which has made the small island nation very popular with international criminals. |
Mariko | Full name: Mariko Yashida (Deceased) Notable relatives: Amiko Kobayasi (surrogate daughter) Shingen Yashida (Father) Silver Samurai (half-brother) Sunfire (cousin) Sunpyre (cousin) One of the greatest loves of Wolverine's life, Mariko (who eventually became head of Clan Yashida) was engaged to be married to him, only to have that ceremony halted at the altar by the manipulations of Mastermind. Though Logan continued to see other women, so far as is known, Mariko remained faithful to him and was taking steps to redeem the honor of her clan to make their marriage a possibility again at the time of her death. Poisoned and faced with a long, painful death, Mariko asked for (and received) a quicker death by Logan's claws. More |
Xavier Institute for Higher Learning | Location: Salem Center, New York Also known as the X-Mansion, this location serves the dual purpose of a boarding school for 'exceptional' (read as mutant) students and headquarters for the X-Men. |
