(Also Known As Trying To Piece Together Logan's Past)

1960s

1968 - Wolverine 68

Events here are depicted in memory flashbacks of Logan - aided (he thinks) by Epsilon Red. In 1968, Logan was sent to get inside of the Russian Space Station Tyuratam (nicknamed 'Terry Adams') to assassinate Epsilon Red. He got in fine - the problem was the presence of Epsilon's pregnant wife. Logan wasn't too keen on whacking a man in front of his wife in spite of orders.

That quandry was resolved by the timely entrance of his teammate, Sabretooth, who'd been sent in with the abort orders for the mission.

Logan left as Sabretooth covered his exit. Epsilon Red (who had been physically altered so that he could survive in space without special equipment, but couldn't survive on Earth anymore without a containment suit) had asked Logan to complete his mission and kill him. The strain of having to spend his life in a containment suit and being unable to touch his wife anymore had gotten to be too much. Once Logan was gone, he asked the same thing of Sabretooth. Instead of shooting Epsilon Red though (who 'wanted it too much'), Sabretooth shot his pregnant wife.

As it turned out, the removal of some of the memory blocks wasn't actually done by Epsilon Red (though Logan never learned that). It was his daughter, Elena, who had helped him out -- but with an ulterior motive. She had been born that day in 1968 by Caesarian section as her mother died from Sabretooth shooting her. While distracting Logan and getting him to willingly open up to the psionic touch by removing some of his memory blocks, she searched his mind for as much information as she could get regarding Sabretooth, who she planned to get revenge on for her mother's death.
