(Also Known As Trying To Piece Together Logan's Past)

Prior to World War Two (Before 1939)

Childhood (Questionable) - Wolverine 25

During his time in Madripoor, Logan spun this story for a young boy who he was guarding in payment of a debt to the boy's father. In the story, he called the subject 'the boy' -- in his own thoughts, however, he said "Logan... I could call him Logan."
When or if this took place? No telling. In the beginning of the story, there's nothing to give any sort of time reference other than the fact that it was winter in Canada. In this scenario, the boy was the son of the leader of a group of people and his father decided that his son was too small and weak to be any good, so they cast him out in the middle of winter. The boy didn't die of hunger or exposure though as was likely intended. He came across a pack of wolverines and (in Mowgli-ish fashion), the preditors took him in.

He grew up as a member of the pack, learning from the wolverines how to hunt and survive in the wilds. As he grew, he came to figure out about his natural tendancy to heal wounds and illness and that his senses were every bit as sharp as those of his pack.

One line of Logan's story also indicates that there's no way of telling how long this took. "He learned that he was resistant to the weather.... and to time"

Logan's next encounter with humans was a group of fur trappers, angry about their traps being raided. He was caught in a net and the hunters planned to sell the 'wild boy' to a circus or freak show. When his pack attacked to free him, the hunters tried to kill them. He broke free and between the two and four-legged wolverines, the hunters didn't last long. Again - this may or may not be a true story, but it would account for Wolverine's long-standing and vehement hatred of folks who hunt for anything other than food or survival.

It would also account for much of Logan's clashes with male authority figures not to mention his pursuit of strong-willed women (let's face it - Logan has never pursued the shrinking violet type of woman). Even if his conscious mind doesn't follow the ideal of the strongest male leads and gets the best of the available females, if that's what he grew up with then that would have to greatly color his immediate reactions to those he meets.
