Welcome to the Shadowlands...

Tragically, not all stories of women with hyperemesis have a happy ending. A small percentage of women with HG have become so overwhelmed by the illness and lack of quality medical care and emotional support that they have made the heartbreaking decision to terminate their pregnancies. This is not a pro-life or pro-choice issue, and this is not a place for judgment or condemnation. The Shadowlands is a place for these women to grieve, heal, and talk to each other. This is also hopefully a place to encourage women with HG who are considering termination to switch doctors, find emotional support, or do whatever is necessary to save both their lives and their babies' lives.
