Thankfully, Starlight Cave at the bottom is a through trip, so you don't have to go back up the huge pitch.

Harwood Hole

Harwood Hole is a huge 170m shaft that leads into the sporty Starlight Cave. There is only
one re-belay, right on the lip of the shaft. You can see all the way down from this point... it is a
heart stopping moment as you disconnect and then reconnect your descender 170m off the deck... Thankfully, Starlight Cave at the bottom is a through trip, so you don't have to go back up the huge pitch. The black dot at the top of the photo is a person. You can't see the rope he is abseilling on. |
