SORRY ALL! This info is LONG overdue! Well, in a serch for the better mouse trap I've done a lot of research and have found it is VERY easy to build an amazing rack for you reptiles out of light weight plastic. Just to give you a sample, you're looking at a cost of about $12-$13 a hole for 32 qt tubs. I will also show you where you can get a hot air welder for $39 or less.
I will not be able to get photos up as I never did put my rack together. I bought all the stuff I needed and found myself too busy to get around to doing it. I intend to but haven't. Just to give you the quick info:
The plastic you will want to purchase is called SaniLite. This is the same stuff used for cutting boards. Very tough and excellent to work with. You're going to want the 1/4" and it should run you about $0.70 a SQFT including the cost to have it cut. This item is also made in many colors, red, blue, green, black and so on but only in the 1/2" and up. SaniLite is used as the blue plastic walls in almost all Wal-Marts bathrooms I have ever been in as well.
Just to give you an idea, the rack I have in my plans weights in at roughly 120 pounds. Made out of 1/4" SaniLite the same rack is 40-45 pounds.
Here are the best places I've found for you to get your supplies:
Professional Plastics These guys have a C&C cutter that will get you a perfect cut every time. They can also be reached at 1-800-445-3303, I've dealt with Craig Harris and he's been great! He should be able to tell you where the closest location is to you if you didn't find it on their site.
Harbor Freight This is a nice little plastic welder that will do the trick for you long enough to build many racks. I bought mine for $29 and I know it goes on sale from time to time so try to get away with saying you say it for $29 and lost that item number.
