The Journey Begins

My wife and I must have looked at over 1000 buses before deciding to use the Prevost for our "Home Away From Home" project. Next it was time to find one we could afford. Thanks to the hard work of Jim Hepher of the Prevost shop in Mira Loma California, we found our "Dream Bus". After much creative financing, we were able to take her home. Our bus is an '88 Prevost Le Mirage XL 102". Engine is a Detroit Diesel 8V92 Turbo with Allison HT740 5 Speed Automatic. The drive from Riverside to Las Vegas was interesting to say the least. Almost 5 hours of 50+ MPH winds.

Day #1 Pickup

Finally pickup day, Thursday November 18, 2000. Photo with Prevost salesman Jim Hepfer.

Stripping Begins

Here are the first photos of the interior after seats and one side of overhead bins, bathroom and heat ducts removed.

Cockpit Area

Here is a photo of the factory Prevost drivers compartment. Not bad, but will have many upgrade for the long hours on the road.
