DESCENDANTS OF RICHARD SEARS

RICHARD SEARS born about 1610 probably came from England to settle in the Colony of Massachusetts. He married DOROTHY (unknown) about 1636. He died at Yarmouth on Cape Cod Aug 1676. Dorothy died there 19 March of 1679. Name first recorded in Plymouth Colony in the tax list of March 25, 1633, when he was one of forty-four in a list of eighty-six persons, who were assessed nine shillings in corn, at six shillings per bushel. Some sources say that Dorothy is Dorothy Jones, daughter of George Jones and Agnes (unknown). He left a will dated 10 May 1667; proved 5 Mar 1675/76.

+2. (*) SILAS born about 1638 possibly at Marblehead MA; died 13 Jan 1697/98 Yarmouth MA; married about 1660 at Yarmouth ANNA (unknown); probably Anna Bursell. She died 4 Mar 1725/26 at Yarmouth. He was appointed Administrator of the estate of James Bursell, possibly a father-in-law. He left no will and administration of his estate was granted to his wife, Anna, 1 May 1698.
