Labyrinth Webrings

Is it me or did David Bowie make you sigh as he masterfully captured the essence of the Goblin King in the Movie "Labyrinth"? I sincerely, positively doubt that anyone could have done a better job or have been such a perfect candidate for the main part. Why is it that after that wonderful movie (thanks to Jim Henson and crew) (1986) David Bowie seemed to disappear as Jennifer Connelly took center stage? Don't get me wrong.. she was absolutely perfect for the role of "Sarah" and I did like some of her later movies.. but what ever happened to David? I can't make up my mind on what makes this particular movie so memorable to me and it's audience.. perhaps it was Jareth(David Bowie) 's captivating stare.... the slow sensual accent? hehe or maybe it is the characters.. storyline..... costume... scenery, music? Maybe it's all combined Wouldn't it have been wonderful if Jim Henson had made a part 2?
