P.C.Chacko Padannamakkel died at his home here in Kanjirappally in the year of 1969. He was the eldest son of Vallyakunju, Padannamakkel and Thresia Arakkal. Burial ceremony was in St. Dominic Church Cemetery in Kanjirappally, Kerala.
PC Chacko was born in the year of 1896 in Kanjirappally and lived many of places all over his life. He received his high school Diploma from St. Eprem High School, Mannanam. He enrolled in the British armed forces at the time of the World War 1. He was a designated officer in the war under British army in the field of Mesopotamia (Iraq). Soon after the war, he retired out of his services from British Army. Later, he was in charge of the director of A.V. Thomas Company. Also, he was a well-known plantation manager of Velliamattam as well as Marthomma estates in Thodupuzha. He owned a large estate at Mundakkayam and Sivapuram, Malabar.
Chacko was a philanthropist, an active social workman, an orator, a good organizer, and a director of a multi million national company. He served as the trustee of St. Dominic church of Kanjirappally and was keeping this position until his death. In addition to, he was a member in management team at the commencement of St. Dominic?s College, Kanjirappally.
P.C.Chacko wrote a social novel the one that celebrated his times affixed to a title ' Kuberavruttam ' at the beginning of 1930. He became renowned by the publication of this novel. This novel is preserved in the recordings of microfilm of library of the congress, Washington. P.C. Chacko wrote the first full-length novel as for a possible life of people of Kanjirappally in the year 1930. This novel is in regard to the greediness, jealous, and the life of a barbarian circle of the rich community in Kanjirappally. There was a wide criticism over the publication of this novel from the church authorities along with the restrictions from the Divan Sir C.P.Ramaswami Iyyer Government. Thus Chacko became one of the first famous authors of Malayalam literature in 1930. ---------------------------------------------
