Welcome to our "home on the web." Let me introduce you to the members of our family. My name is Joseph Padannamakkel. I am the the son of Annamma Valliyara and P.C.Mathew Padannamakkel. I have only a short while ago initiated the search in contact with my mother's ancestors for that reason my information does not go back that far. In February of 1994, my mother had died. I realized after her death that I knew next to nothing about her ancestors, and I did not want my children to face the same thing upon my death. I decided that I would update the information in the web site and preserve the information for my children. Much of this work is based on the information from my beloved uncle Kuttichayan (Mr. Kalackal Sebastian, Thottakkadu). I want to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to those who contributed to the research of Kalackal families.
I am hereby dedicating this page to those of our ancestors of the Kalackal family. It is my inheritance for all of my family to derive joy from! Now when my children's children, nieces, nephews and future generations ask questions in regard to their ancestry, they will have more answers than I did. There could possibly be errors in some files, but I have done my best to be as accurate as possible. I gladly take corrections from family members if any one has more information to submit to this very large family. What follows are the results of my searches. If you find a link to any of these families, please let me know.
One of the goals of this web site is to help our family, friends and fellow researchers stay connected even though we live far apart.
Most of my mother's ancestors are from Kuttanadu . It is believed that these families are relocated from Kuravilangadu. This Kalackal family is related to Saint, Chavara Kuriyakkose Eliyasachan. Kuttanadu was well known even from the early periods of the Sangam age. The early Cheras had their home in Kuttanadu. Christianity had a strong foothold in the area even from the Ist century A.D. The boat journey in Kuttanadu taluk is a fascination for the foreign tourists.
The earliest ancestor we have traced lineage from is Cherian Kandankulam, Kainakari. All of the Kalackal family members we know of today are descended from this great Dad. Mathan, (A.D. 1870?) was one of children of Cheriyan, Kandankulam, Kainakari (I have no names of other children) relocated to the Kalackal house, Chennankari. However, I have no information about the side of the Kandankulam
Family in the Kainakari and this is where I need your kind assistance. I hope you will provide us
with any information you may have about your ancestors, so I will be able to complete our Family Tree as much as possible.

I. Mathan Devasia and Mariyamma, Vallyara
Mathan , son of Ouseph (Joseph) married Mariyamma (Ikkriyamma) , Champakkulam Kavalaykkal, while living in Vallyara house.
Chennankari is a coastal village in Kerala and is blessed with lot of backwaters, paddy fields and rivers. Here, Mathan was born to Devasia Valliara and Mariyam.
Mathan Vallyara was a prominent man in Chennankery. Amongst his community during that time he was a very popular man. The neighbors and relatives as well as friends around were always seeking his help in matters of property litigation, family disputes as well as problems involving workers in the paddy fields etc. He was possessed a tall, healthy physique, strong caliber and wonderful personality. His baldhead and holding his cane in his hand was the epitome of aristocracy in his family. He was a very modest dresser clad in a white dhoti and white shirt. Above all he was the trustee of St. Josephs Church, Chennamkery.

A little bit about Mariamma (Ikkriyamma ), Valliyara
Mariyamma (Ikkriyamma) had one brother, (Appe Kuttichan) and two sisters. Appekuttichan had one son, Kunjommachan (Joseph Thomas, Melezhukatthu)and one daughter. Kunjommachan married Eliyamma (Elikutty) , Kandakudi(died on October 10,2008). Tomichan, Babukutty, Babychan, Georgekutty, Johnachan, Pious Joy (Mathew Joseph, IES). Selamma, Memma, Ansi, Preethi are their successful children.
Appekuttichan's daughter married to Chandichan Anthreper . Ouseppachan Paikkattu and Varkkichan were Mariyamma (Ikriamma) sister's children. Shaji Vargese and Shini Benni are late Varkkichan's children.
Also, Pullukattu Kuttiyamma is the daughter of Mariyamma (Ikriyamma)'s youngest sister.

Annamma Chacko,Karukakulam, Kumarankary(83) (wife of late Chakkachan, Vallyarayil-Kalackel (83)) died on May 17, 2004. She was 83 years old when she died. The burial took place at the St. Joseph's Forana church Cemetery in Chennankary.

Rajamma was born on January 29, 1949 and passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011.Rajamma was last known to be living in Naperville, Illinois.
C. Jose, died by an accident at his tender age at hand of a riverbank near his home.

Obituary
It is with deep sadness and regret that our families have to report the passing away of Kalackal K. Chacko (Appachan Sir) on October 5, 2002.
Appachan Sir, 81, was a longtime Teacher, retired Head Master, and a very good farmer. He was very well known and liked, remembered by fellow teachers, students, many his relatives, friends and neighbors for his distinguished personality and activism in his community and family. Burial was at St. Thomas Church cemetery, at Pallathurthi.
He is survived by his wife, Thresiamma Chacko of Palathra family, Thuruthi; two daughters, Mariyamma, Jasi; five sons, K. C. Joseph, K.C. James, K.C. Mathew, K.C. Sebastian, K.C. Antony; In laws including Brijit Joseph, Kunju Mol, Sunu, Skariaya, Vincent, Moly Grinsi and grand children.
