**This page is dedicated Max Delirium/General Incoherence (Adam Rider) and the Disruptor (Chris Sanicola). They will never be forgotten for all the personality and memories they brought during their years in the EWA. This site also goes out to all of those friends and family who have sadly passed away of any of the EWA and PXW(etc.) Superstars, as well as any Professional Wrestlers (WARRIOR!!!) that we grew up watching and loving as kids who are now gone... They will never be forgotten by any of us! They were our inspiration.**
The PXW and EWA were 2 local backyard wrestling federations in upstate NY!!! They were most Extreme and meant business!!! It all started with the NWF, a one match deal for Psyco and Wolfman's(then Psycho Icedog and Mighty Sledgehammer's) High School Senior Project in Mr. Bernstein's class at the Norwich High School! Go Tornados! It was a classic match that set the path for many great local federations that followed... soon, Wolfman(Sledgehammer) created the NWF with other friends and began a backyard wrestling group with no cameras, it was just for fun. Shortly after a video camera was obtained the EWA formed in February 1998! A year later, Psyco followed suit in forming his own backyard wrestling federation, the PXW, with his separate group of buddies in February 1999... by this time, EWA had been already been around for a year and was moving into it's EWA 2 (2nd generation). The EWA shows for the first couple years primarily took place in what I call the EWA Arena, otherwise known as Wolfman X's backyard in Norwich. The PXW Arena on the other hand, was basically Psycohol's backyard and the parking lot and adjacent grass behind his property. Unlike the PXW for the most part, the EWA tended to travel around town a bit, like to local parks, other spots around town, up to WMX's trailer in the country, and coincidentally to the PXW Arena itself. In later years, the EWA moved for a good chunk of its shows to the backyard of WMX's house in Oneonta, NY, about 45 minutes from Norwich. Other spots (people's yards) were occasionally used out that way as well. These were both serious backyard federations, but with plenty of fun and humor!!! Nobody was out to hurt anyone else, or resort to hospital-ending violence like glass and barbwire too often (a couple fluorescent light bulbs made it into a couple shows though), but illegal objects were used which made it all the more fun. Despite most of the action taking place on the unforgiving dirt and grass of well-compacted solid backyard ground (unlike those high flying trampoline federations, not true backyarders), wrestling skills were present and the moves often impressive. That's not to say everything was great, but hey, we gave it our all. Nobody got paid, they only came out for the fun and excitement it brought to one and all. Many times there were no audiences except for the other wrestlers present, where at other times it was like a party with a dozen to two dozen people all hanging out. There was never or rarely ever any outside crowds watching the shows, only us and probably some nosey neighbors peeping out from their windows wondering what the heck was going on. The cops showed up a few times, especially when we wrestled at parks, but no often they let us continue. Doubt that would happen these days. We were lucky.
The PXW since mid '99 had been mostly inactive with occasional resurfacings, but has now finally looked to die out for good. The PXW'ers weren't quite as committed as the EWA guys and many moved away, got married, or had jobs earlier, so the PXW seemed to naturally fade away. The PXW's heyday was really all in the year of 1999, a one year wonder. The EWA stayed strong with many dedicated wrestlers and even newer generations beyond the first couple filling in gaps for those who'd left. The EWA remained constant into 2008, but slowly fizzled with only two shows in each 2009 and 2010. A small resurgence of reunion shows (about 6) happened between 2013-2015, but again became inactive. Many of the EWA guys continued wrestling in their 20s despite working and trying to make a living. But once those 30s in their life cycles hit, and many realized that the real world in knocking and many of the guys had kids or moved away, the regular EWA shows and races for championships had finally become a thing of the past. Wolfman X was undoubtedly the heart of the EWA as he stuck it out until the end with barely any of the original crew still on board with him. Ground Zero and Jevon had moved to Florida long ago. Natas and Drakan stopped fighting long ago. Psycohol stuck with him the longest, but moved to Hawai`i in late 2005. The guys have all physically gotten older as well, and you know how the body gets with age, so although there may be an occasional reunion show (as there was a very short one in 2019), don't look for any full-fledged EWA return, unless WMX's sons somehow follow his footsteps?! Whether wrestling or not, the boys have always said "EWA 4 Life!" That's no lie.
And if you are wondering about some of the other local upstate federations mentioned or not mentioned on this website, I'll give you a quick briefing on those right here. The BTVW, back in Psycohol's first run through college at SUNY Binghamton, while working at the campus television station, Psycohol just happened to meet some people who were interested in wrestling too, and starting in the Fall of 1999, they began having matches on live TV down in the TV Studio on a nice "soft" concrete floor, using whatever equipment was laying around as their illegal objects and such to beat each other with. As it was on a concrete floor, it was definitely brawl heavy. It was more fun than serious wrestling, other than the match with Pitbull vs. Psyco, but it was very unique... Psyco graduated in 2001, and the BTVW ended with it. There are a few other random wrestling leagues that came and went through the years including the UWA ("Notorious" Jevon Hill's federation in his yard) which I unfortunately do not have very much information on. I would love to have a list of wrestlers and the match results for however many shows they held so I could document it here, but I am afraid it is likely erased in the history books. If I ever speak with Jevon again, I may ask if any records were kept, but I don't know anybody who is a record keeper like I am, except maybe WMX. The XWA/WWF was another federation with an interesting story. As the EWA Renegade shows were happening minus WMX back in 2001-02, Natas wanted to break off into a new federation and leave the old EWA shackles behind. XWA was originally the plan and one show under that name was held. Coincidentally, the old WWF (Vince McMahon, yeah the real deal) was changing its name at the time to WWE in a move to bow down like a coward to the World Wildlife Fund for animals. We thought it would be a fun idea to take the WWF name now that it was no longer being used for wrestling and show that we were not afraid of the animal guys. So we considered ourselves as continuing the long line of champions and wrestlers from the former-real WWF and taking reigns of that legacy! It only lasted 2 shows before we stopped having shows. For the most part, however, the PXW and even WAY more so the EWA will be the main leagues covered throughout this website. I only mention the PXW so much (despite its one busy year) because this site was originally created for the PXW. The EWA is no doubt where most of the news and information has since accumulated from.
This site is the main source of information regarding the Backyard Wrestling Scene in central Upstate New York! Norwich, Chenango County, NY is where this all started. It outlasted the rest, blazing into the 2010s, when most backyard wrestling had died out over 5 years before that. Is the scene over? Or will it shine again? EWA is 4 Life and Hulk Hogan wrestled well into his 60s right? We'll see.
And DEFINITELY don't forget to go to Wolfman X's Official EWA Page with his own personalized viewpoints and commentary on the old EWA!!! It's been a long time since it has been updated, but it's still up, so it's still a good resource.

Wolfman X's Autobiography!
Psycohol's Autobiography! (FINALLY COMPLETE!)
4/29/21... Holy crap everybody, it's been a looooooooooooooooooooooong time! That's life, right. We all go out and eventually have to make a living. The EWA as an active backyard wrestling federation has come to an end back in 2014. I think it actually outlived the backyard wrestling craze from the late 1990s through the early 2000s. It did well and lasted longer than most! So we are all proud of what we've done! Give ourselves a pat on the back boys. There was one show since 2014, the shortest ever EWA show on 9/4/2019, where WMX's son(naming himself "American") beat up Suicide, and WMX and Psycohol played some trickery on Ground Zero, ending up in a 1 to 2 minute fight with WMX beating Ground Zero, not without help from guest ref Psycohol. Also we've lost another one of our EWA all-time greats, Disruptor a few years back. I am sad that I had not updated it. Disruptor has joined Max Delirium in the EWA afterlife and we all miss those two very much! A couple updates about wrestlers who I still personally keep in touch with. First, Psycohol, he went back to college in Hawai`i back in 2012, and had graduated with a Master's in Geology in 2019. He finally moved from the Aloha State to the Seattle area in Washington using his skills in an emergency management sort of position. Wolfman X is the frickin' Postmaster General of his old EWA stomping grounds of Oneonta, NY! He's married to his old flame Frankie and has two kids and a step-kid I do believe. He's always rubbed me as someone who might go postal someday. And he did. Splooge, last I heard, Splooge moved to the suburb of San Francisco named Colma and is working at a Kohl's department store, in the ladies section, still wearing his mask and all. Mr. Execution is still proud and homeless, but has moved to Guam, since Hawai`i banned him for life. Will he ever make it back state-side? And I Richard Head... I am living down in Dover, Delaware with my life partner and husband for 3 years, Putty Man. Yes. It's true, we are very happy in our current situation. I am writing for a local newspaper, well more of a bulletin... okay a gazette.... and it's voluntary. And I only get one article a month... but I'm working my way up. Otherwise, I am the manager of a McDonald's and doing great. Putty Man is the manager for a Burger King. No jokes! But yeah. The main reason I got on the website was to update the final 2019 show, announce and update the vacancy of all champions backdated to 11/8/2017 in the EWA, and to make sure all win-loss records are all updated as well. Now that everything is looking good, it could be another 10 to 20 years before you hear from me... hopefully not. It would be nice to jump back on if I have time and there is news of some of our guys, but for now, we'll leave it at that. I miss all the old EWA and PXW crews. I would love for a reunion, but life is busy once you get in the middle of it. Either way EWA is for life. PXW is for life. We won't forget our youth. Richard Head out.
8/7/14... Big news everybody! The EWA held its 2nd show of the year 2014 last week on July 31st, and after over 6 years I believe we finally have a new World Champion! Wolfman X finally lost his long-held gold to none other than his Tag Team Partner, Psycohol who returned from Hawai'i for one show! I will update what happened later at EWA 125... but the Main news is that Psycohol is now a 9-time EWA Champion, and bringing the Title back to Hawai'i again!
3/7/14... So, what, I haven't brought you news in over a year now, but that doesn't mean nothing's happened, I have just been really busy and I won't lie, lazy when it comes to updating... but I'll fill you in on what's been happening in the EWA world. Psycohol is still going to school, trying to earn his science degree. Wolfman X has had a second son(I believe Alex) with his new/old girl Frankie! Congrats to them! I know Execution has been scrounging for change from passerbys in Waikiki as of late, homeless as hell; but that's the life he chose. Mr. Splooge is working in a Sushi restaurant, making his earnings, and I know Psykadelik of the PXW had his second kid, a boy Logan, but this news is like way late, because he's already past his toddler stages haha. I don't know too much about everyone else, being locked in Hawai'i and all, but there is some show news for the EWA. In fact one of the shows happened nearly a year ago after the passing of our very-missed wrestler Max Delirium. On April 21st, last year 2013, the "General Madd Max Tribute Show" was put on in Max's memory. The show opened with Max's theme music, and then General Incoherence's(Max's other persona), and Wolfman X came out to do a little summary of Max's history in the EWA. Loco and Hack McNasty then came out to talk a bit about Max too, remembering the Powerbomb off the trailer from EWA100. After the opening, Ninja talks about WMX's scary surgery where he was in critical condition, and then recalls incident at Nina's where he hit WMX in his stomach (after surgery) and was now afraid of WMX's redemption. The 1st Match was a 3-way dance for Keven James' IC Title! Keven was to face both New Reich members, Hack McNasty and Loco in this 3-way dance, but I guess keven was intimidated by the odds and no-showed, leaving the New Reichers to face each other for the vacated Title! They had a great match despite their friendship, but both ended up knocking each other out with a double weaponshot at the end, and Suicide ran out, putting a hand from each man over the other, instigating a double pin, and in an unprecedented turn of events, Commish Squires(in attendance) announces that both men won, and are therefore EWA's first joint co-IC Champions! Ninja then came out to find a challenge for his Loserweight Belt; who to beat and get rid of the title to? He was scared of most everyone he saw and in the end decided to fight Maggi(Lizzi M'gizzi's mom) for the belt, but of course got beaten, retaining his loserdom. The New Reich, Loco and Hack invite Suicide out next to thank him for helping them both win the IC Title. In thanking him, they basically beat his @$$ and pinned him in an impromptu handicap match. Drixon Webb then shows up, with an open challenge, which was accepted by Face. In the end, Drix ends up ripping Face's mask off and DDT'ing him for the win! Unfortunately the camera angle was no good for seeing was Face's face looks like! So sad! In an anticlimactic Main Event, Wolfman X was to get his revenge, defending his Title against..... dum dum DUM... Ninja?! This is the Main Event? Serious? Yes, it was... and it was a submission match, but not really, more of a knockout match. So Wolfman X obviously dominated over this no-talent hack-jobber of a Ninja and ended it, by laying a chair over the Ninja's head and throwing a frickin' Bowling Bowl onto it, rendering the Ninja a bit more than unconscious! And the show was over, WMX was the winner, and he called out one last tribute to Max Delirium, claiming that the Title he held should have been Max's long ago, and to Rest in Peace. We will miss Max! Apparently rumor has it that Kamilian even showed up after the show to hang out a bit, which is news since his unhappy departure from the EWA a few years back. Maybe amends are in place? We'll see... After this show, no shows happened the rest of the year... another quiet year basically, but with EWA's 16th anniversary coming up in February of 2014, WMX wanted to throw a "sweet 16" show, so EWA; "Sweet 16" happened on February 9th, 2014 in birthday fashion. Well actually.... I don't really know the details too much, or if it was in birthday fashion at all, but I do know the results of the matches! So that's all I'm going to give! In match #1, Little Lex(WMX's new son) defeated the Ninja in typical Ninja-fashion{losing to babies}, and Ninja kept his Loserweight Belt. I believe this first match MAY HAVE taken place in WMX's house, not the Arena... because the 2nd match of the show was exactly the same, Ninja challenging and losing to Little Lex, maybe in revenge for his earlier miscalculated attack. Too bad Ninja! The 3rd match again involved Ninja trying to defend his Title, this time losing to Loco. In this neverending Gauntlet, Ninja loses his 4th match in a row against Gorebelly. Gorebelly then goes to fight Face in the 5th Match, and Face defeats the ugly monster. In a squash match following that, Wolfman X defeats Suicide with No problem. Finally the main event was the only real match of the show it seems(kind of like Saturday Morning WWF wrestling in the 80's, with one good match and a bunch of Jobber Matches preceding it), Wolfman X and Loco have a Tower Match{like a Tree/Ladder Match I hear} for both their Titles(Loco's IC and WMX's World), I'm sure it was a pretty good match, but in the end there were no Title changes, as the two had a draw. There are talks of future shows in the works right now, so the EWA ain't exactly dead. It's not as full-time as it once was, but after WMX's long path to recovery following his dangerous surgery and conditions of a couple years past, it looks like the EWA may be back if not for a couple or few shows a year maybe if the guys can find their time. I'll try to update you whether anything happens or not if I get the time! Thanks all, hope I still have a couple followers of this site!
3/29/13... Very sad news today. Wolfman X called today and let me and Psyco know that EWA's Max Delirium(real name- Adam Rider) had passed away. It's very shocking news to us all, being so young as he was, and such a big part of EWA history. Max Delirium was also revealed to be General Incoherence for those who don't remember. Max was a very dark gothic quiet type, with a high-flying, daredevil-style, unique in the EWA, whereas his General Incoherence Character was a very verbal wiggah'-style, crap-talkin' more grounded fighter, but very entertaining. His last appearance at an EWA show was at EWA 100 on 3/25/07, nearly 6 years ago to the day. He had a very successful career, grabbing the EWA IC and Tag Titles, and what nobody knows is he was set to be the World Champion too, but no-showed the show he was supposed to win it. In our hearts, Max is no doubt an honorary EWA World Champion... his time with Dementia tag partner Vincent Demented and his alliance with Vince Kitty Valentine and Psycohol in "Psycho Dementia" will not be forgotten by any of us who have met him. We send our condolences to all his family and friends, and know he is now in a better place with his uncle Crush(of WWF fame); and we will never forget what he brought to the camera in his times in the EWA, and even more so what a nice guy he was off-camera. Rest in Peace Max Delirium!
4/28/12... I can't believe I'm saying this, but Psycohol's Autobiography is FINALLY caught up to the current date and Complete! He's been catching up with his career ever since he started writing the Autobiography back in the early 2000's or whenever it was, but today he FINALLY completed it and put the finishing touches on it for you all to see! Yeah it's a long read, but if you've already read some of it before, just skip to the end and read some of the more recent stuff... he's informed me that it is by no means DONE, but it is up-to-date! So if shows happen in the future, it'll continue to be updated, but as for now he is done! Good work Psycohol! That is a decent chunk of words you've written down there! Well, no other news right now, but at least something for all you fans to check out! See you next time!
4/20/12... Wow, I truly haven't been on this site in forever, and I don't want to admit this, but almost forgot entirely about it. That's how sad it's become in the backyard wrestling world in these past two years. I mean, it's not sad, everyone from the old EWA and PXW days are doing fine and getting on with their Adult lives, but there is this bittersweet memory of what once was... of what was Never going to die so it seemed.... of course there likely would have been some sort of event this past November when Psycohol was back in NY, but with Wolfman X's surgery and the turn of events that led to that earlier in the year, it was not to be. Who knows when and what the next trip to New York shall hold for Psyco and WMX? Wrestling or not, I guess it depends on their conditions... WMX is almost back to normal and working and living a rather normal life, and we thank the fact that there is no God for that(an atheist way of saying "Thank God")... Psycohol on the other hand is preparing to go back to school once again to Major in some sort of Environmental Science, and will be in Hawaii for his schooling... of course if it hadn't been mentioned on this site before, Psycohol already has a Bachelor's in Studio Art from SUNY Binghamton, in which he was attending during the EWA's 1st 4 Revolutions BACK IN THE DAY! He missed the 1st Revolution mostly due to this college, and then took weekends to travel upstate and wrestle the rest of his college tenure... just a little history for ya, and now he's going back to get a 2nd Bachelor's and possibly more... anyways, that's what's going on here in Hawaii... Mr. Splooge has his own Dojo for Losers in Chinatown, and Mr. Execution started his own Street Brawling School in Kalihi... hopefully all the other guys are doing well back in NY or wherever they may be! And hopefully I'll be back to update once in awhile instead of totally forgetting about this memory-filled website! See you then!
9/11/11... First off, lets have a moment of silence for the loss of the 2 great towers that fell 10 Years ago, as well as the thousands that died that day, and millions who helped out after September 11th, 2001............ we will never forget that day! On to EWA news... well there really isn't any, but I have talked to Wolfman X recently and he is doing better! He hasn't had any recurring incidents to go back to the hospital in many months, so it seems he is on the right path and almost back to a normal lifestyle after that devastating month or two he went through at the beginning of this year involving his pancreas! We are all so thankful that he's back to himself and I know Psycohol and myself personally can't wait to get home and see him in November, when Psycohol's brother Brian(a.k.a. Robert Lane of the PXW) gets Married to a beautiful Irish/English gal, Katie! Congrats to them! So back to WMX... he still needs to prick his finger before every meal for health reasons, and he still hasn't gained all his weight back, but he is doing awesome! Obviously he cannot wrestle due to this long recovery process... will he ever be able to wrestle again, we don't know.... but I know Wolfman X thinks about that himself and would die to be able to do it again whenever he can! As for a show in November, it's definitely going to be difficult to put one together with WMX, he is the backbone of these things, but you never know, if we find any other wrestlers in the area at the time, there's a possibility for a small show, and WMX would obviously be there in presence, but there are no guarantees this time... it could be the first year since 1999(12 Years) without an EWA Show! That's big! If they somehow manage to squeeze out a show, it will be the 1st One-Show Year! Either way, it looks as if the EWA has come to a halt, but that's okay, EWA is for Life, and even if it goes a year or two without anything, eventually it will be back, but obviously only if Wolfman X is healthy and capable, and let's pray that he get's back to full strength... not so we can have another EWA Show, but for him and his personal health, and his family, and for an end to this bad chapter in his life! Glad you're doing better WMX, see you in November! -Richard
3/24/11... So some updates on Wolfman X... apparently he recently had surgery to take his gall bladder out on the 16th of March, and the operation went fine and he's feeling better, but still in the hospital... Wolfman X has lost a lot of weight since January... down to around 200 lbs. from his regular wrestling weight of 250! Wolfman X being skinny?! No way!!! Psycohol has talked to him, and WMX says he definitely misses lifting weights, and would like to eventually get back up to 220-230 lbs. when he is healthy again... but this is a long process, and he is doing pretty good! I will continue to check in on how he's doing and let you guys know any further news!
2/4/11... Just a quick update, WMX is back in the hospital again, with a bit of internal bleeding or something like that... he's been home for a few weeks, and has been on insulin, having to take like 4 shots a day, and his pancreas still hasn't healed... hasn't gotten worse, just hasn't healed much at all... anyways, he's back in the hospital for the moment to monitor the bleeding, he should be fine, he's just gotta get through these tough times! We all wish him the best, all his friends and family, and we know in the end he will be okay out of this jungle he's been going through this past month! It's only a matter of time! I'll let you all know on any news of his health for sure, so stop by once in awhile!
