Searchers Seek Clues

HYANNISPORT, Mass. (Reuters) - Searchers have given up hope of finding John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife & her sister alive after their plane crashed off Martha's Vineyard, and resumed efforts Monday to recover the aircraft and determine the cause of the tragedy. The search plan included, for the first time, the use of divers in specific areas to hunt for any wreckage of the six-seater, single-engine aircraft that disappeared from radar off the western end of the island Friday night. Kennedy 38, was piloting with his wife Carolyn Bessette Kennedy 33, and Lauren Bessette 35, also aboard.

The ashes of John Kenndy Jr., and Carolyn Bessette Kenndy, were spread out over the ocean, seven miles from Martha's Vineyard, where John's plane went down.
