(1946-1989) ~noted for her performances on the television program Saturday Night Live during 1975-1980. ~born on June 28, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. ~She was the second of Herman and Henrietta's two children. Michael, who was the first, was born five years earlier. ~attended the University of Michigan, where she studied drama, but dropped out and moved to Toronto. ~ In Toronto, she played in a production of the rock musical Godspell. ~A member of Second City, a Toronto offshoot of a Chicago-based improvisational comedy group. ~In 1974, "National Lampoon Radio Hour", which was syndicated weekly. ~A year later, she appeared in The National Lampoon Show, an off-Broadway satirical revue. ~Her wacky characters and zany celebrity spoofs earned her fame and in 1978, she was awarded an Emmy. ~1979, Gilda fulfilled her life long dream and created her own one-woman show, "Gilda Radner-Live From New York." ~Gilda starred and appeared in several movies: Hanky Panky, Haunted Honeymoon, etc. ~Met Gene on set of Hanky Panky. ~Before Gene, was married to G.E.
