SNOWBALL PATTERN #4




FIRST HALF:

Ch 8, join with slip st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 16 sc in ring; join: 16 sc
Note: Work triple treble (abbreviated tr tr) as follows: YO 4 times,  insert hook in sc and pull up a loop (6 loops on hook), (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) 5 times.
Rnd 2: Ch 9 (counts as first tr tr plus 3 ch), (tr tr in next sc, ch 3) around; join.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in same st, 3 sc in each of next 8 ch-3 sps, sc in next tr tr, 3 sc in each ch-3 sp around; join: 50 sc
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 3, skip next sc, sc in next sc) around, ch 1, hdc in first sc to form last loop: 25 loops
Rnd 5-8: Ch 1, sc in same loop, (ch 3, sc in next loop) around, ch 1, hdc in first sc to form last loop.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same loop, ch 2, (sc in next loop, ch 2) around; join, finish off.

SECOND HALF:

Work same as First Half.


Finishing:

Weave in all thread ends.
Push balloon through beginning ring or any chain space of Snowball.
Sew Snowball together.

1) Immerse Snowball in Stiffener (Stiffy works best). Squeeze out excess and inflate balloon.  Hang and allow to dry.

OR

2) Inflate balloon and coat with stiffener (Stiffy works best) using a sponge brush. Hang and allow to dry.

Once Snowball is dry and stiff break the balloon and remove. Decorate to your liking and hot glue ribbon to top to hang on your tree.
