CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
Welcome to my Circle of Friends page. We recently completed our first EP recording project which will be entitled, "AUTUMN STROLL". This was a true labor of love and you should know up front that none of us, with one exception being our pianist, had never been in a studio or recorded before. The six pieces on this CD are all originals initially composed by myself on the guitar but were arranged by the musicians represented in this CD. We got all six recorded and mixed in one-four hour session TOTAL! We certainly shocked not only ourselves, but the engineers at the studio as well!!
Perhaps I am junmping the gun a bit. Circle of Friends is much more than the four of us who recorded this CD. We are a group of amateur musicians who play approximately once a month in support of our church, Covenant United Methodist Church in Rochester, NY. Currently, there are 14 active members of the group which consists of 2 bass players, one guitarist, our music director/pianist, 4 vocal specialists who also trade off on percussions, a violinist, trombone player, 2 flute players, clarinet, saxophone. We also bring in guests as they wish. The Circle has no beginning, nor a finite end.
We chose the 4 players of this first CD by trying to make the recording as simple and efficient as possible. The original pieces were written as instrumentals, although one of our singers is writing lyrics for at least one of the songs now. All were recorded as an ensemble without corrections or any punch-ins so if you came to hear us live, it is what you would hear. Studio time was paid for up front out of our instrumentalists' pockets. All proceeds from the CD will go towards adding more of our musicians to the current mix and adding more songs to fill a full length follow-up CD. In short, your purchace will help our church's music program to become stronger and to be able to go to more people! This CD is extremely diverse in styles and content and has two original pieces along with 10 other more or less traditional Christmas songs done in a not-so-traditional way. Three of the pieces have recieved airplay on local and nationally syndicated radio stations. 11 members of Circle of Friends are represented on Colors of Christmas with some outstanding vocal and instrumental arrangements!

Kevin is a phenominal musician and an amazing person. he is the life-blood of our music program. You just can't have a bad day around him and we are absolutely blessed to have him! His wife had their second child 2 days after we recorded the CD! Thanks you for waiting, Heather!
A Circle of Friends Ensemble.
Tim does more behind the scenes stuff for our program than anyone! He, too, is a huge contributor to our program and was very anxious about his ability to play well enough for this project... Tim, I wouldn't have wanted anybody else to do this with us but you! Your soul comes through, Tim, and you did yourself and us proud, man!
