Rosa Suarez Martinez's parents Francisca Martinez Berrio and Miguel Suarez Morales were from The Canary Islands.
They were descendants of "Los Guanches" the aborignal people of the Canary Islands.

At one time due to their physical appearance it was thought that the Guanches were Celtic or Norse. The Guanches were a race of tall, powerfully built, blonde haired blue eyed people. It was also thought that the Guanaches were Berbers, until recently researchers leaned more to the Celtic/Norse theory. But now thanks to anthropoligal discoveries they believe The Guanches were actually an offshoot of the Berbers.

Berbers are a member of a Caucasoid Muslim people of northern Africa. Berbers which from the dawn of history has occupied Northern Africa from Egypt to the Atlantic. When not mixed with Arabs the Berbers are fair skinned, blonde and blue eyed.

Rosa's physical apperance was that of a Guanche. several of her decendants have inherited her family's fair skin, blond hair, and blue eyes as well as the height.

When the Spaniards conquered the Canary Islands many of the Guanches fell in resisting the Spaniards. Those who survived were sold as slaves. The survivors were forced to convert to Christianty, intermarried with the invaders, and took Spanish names. Thier native language all but disappeared.Such remains as there are of their language, a few expressions and the proper names of ancient chieftains still borne by certain families, connect it with the Berber dialects.
