Greg was born on October 3, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona. Around 1962, he and his family moved to Lancaster, California. In 1966, they moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. He was raised in a small suburb; San Carlos California. He attended San Mateo Junior College and San Francisco University where he studied acting. Along with his partner, Forrest, he performed stand up in the team: Proops and Brakeman. He joined an improv group, Faultline. His first appearance on 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' was in 1989. He and his wife, Jennifer, were married in 1989. He says, "I am married to a woman, Jennifer, who I don't deserve." They don't have any children. He currently tours parts of the US and the UK doing stand up.
Greg Proops is not a regular on "Whose Line is it Anyhway?" , but he does appear some. He is probably on one out of every four episodes. Since there are two episodes each Thursday night, you may see him quite soon.
