It is with regret that we announce that, after 49 years, the Columbus Catholic Alumni Club has been disbanded. The club, a chapter of Catholic Alumni Clubs International, was a source of social activities for single Catholics who were college graduates. But in recent years the number of members and the attendance at club activities has fallen so low that it is not possible to continue.

We wish to thank the many people who did participate in the club over the years. They made the club a great place to make new friends.

Peggy Schano

It is with great sorrow that we remember the passing of Peggy Schano in January of this year. Peggy was a vital part of the Guitar Group and the Catholic Alumni Club from which the Group rose. This group has been together through everything life sends people for over 40 years. They remain close today. Peggy moved to Columbus to attend the then College of St Mary of the Springs located at the motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of St Mary of the Springs. Peggy perceived a calling. She became Sister Alphonsus and taught in schools in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Just before final vows, however, she realized she was called to a different kind of community and went back to being Peggy. She met the CAC. Her qualities began to shine. She had a way of making anyone feel welcome. No one stayed a stranger. She was busy with softball, dances, music, masses, volleyball. She was always an enthusiastic organizer. Peggy's faith was very important to her and she was an active member of Christ the King Church, serving as lector and special minister.
