and Markelle Models By Markelle MATERIALS:
Marinka used H hook with Bernat Sparkle, Bernat Magic, Red Heart
Comfort and an assortment of plyed bits and pieces she had lying about. Markelle made the models and used a G hook, and Red Heart 4 ply. Candy canes come in
many different sizes so the basic foundation chain fits some but won't
others. Adjust the number of chains to the size cane you are using by chaining
and measuring your chain to the cane. Letting it lie very loosly around
crook of cane and add three chains. DIRECTIONS:
The base for all the candy canes is as follows: Chain 32, sc in 2nd stitch from hook, *chain 3 skip 1 ch, sc in next chain* repeat to last ch, 15 ch 3 loops made.
All candy canes are started this way and unless otherwise specified, all stitches are worked in the loops and the sc of this base.
(Depending on the yarn you use, the size of the crochet hook, and your hand or tension at the time of crochet you will get a different look if you omit the sc in the sc of base – try it and compare!).
