Aural Innovations - Online magazine about Spacerock, krautrock, prog-rock, psychedelic, ambient, avant-garde music. Lots of cool band links, photos from Space Daze (America's premiere spacerock festival).
Aural Innovations Review of The Hawthorne Effect - We met Jerry, the guy who does this publication, and he did a review of our performance and CD release, nice of him!
Paul Bley - Intriguing free-jazz pianist.
Donald Byrd - Trumpet player.  Ex-Jazz Messenger that went free-jazz.  Played with Coltrane, Mingus, Dolphy.
Can  - The #1 "krautrock" band of all time!
Charnal House - Record label specializing in experimental psychedelic rock.
Don Cherry - Ex-Ornette Coleman that played a pocket trumpet.  Free-jazz innovator that explored a wide range of ideas.
Cluster - Avant-garde band from Germany.  One of the best, up there with Can and Faust!
John Coltrane - What can I say? Greatest tenor saxophonist that ever lived, period.
Cringe - Columbus based site for regional rock music.
Miles Davis - A true innovator!  He did a lot of things first, so late 20th century music would not be the same without him.
Eric Dolphy - Classically trained multi-instrumentalist (sax, bass clarinet, flute).  Played with the best:  Coltrane, Mingus, Mal Waldron (who, strangely enough, was a member of the "krautrock" band Embryo), Ornette Coleman. Recorded everything from burning hard bop to free-jazz to the avant-garde.
Echoes.org - Great radio show on NPR featuring ambient and cosmic music.
ECM records - Label for ambient jazz and experimental music.
Einstürzende Neubauten - Arguably the creators of industrial music.  Big influence here.  One of the most erudite bands out there.
Brian Eno - Rock, ambient, avant-garde musician.  Original member of Roxy Music and made varoius recordings with Robert Fripp. Was a big influence on the band.
Faust - The other #1 "krautrock" band of all time!  More avant-garde experimental than krautrock, actually.
Forced Exposure - Long-time promoters of underground rock, avant-garde, experimental, and more.  Great on-line catalog of things you can't find in your local stores.
Ghost - Japanese psychedelic band known for their spiritual approach to music. Combining western psyche music with traditional Japanese folk music makes them rather innovative.
Jimi Hendrix - Again, what can you say? He was the most soulful and wailing-est blues man ever.
Last Exit - Gristly jazz shoved down your throat.
King Crimson - Prog-rock with a highly improvisational side.
Kraftwerk - One of the old school "krautrock" bands.  Started out an organic band and later changed to a more robotized style of minimalist synth-rock.
Magical Power Mako - Premier Japanese psychedelic musician.  He's been kicking around since the early 70's.
John McLaughlin - Of the best jazz / fusion guitarists ever.  Highly spiritual music that makes you feel alive.  Founder of The Mahavishnu Orchestra, the best fusion band there ever was!
Thelonious Monk - Arguably one of the most innovative pianists in jazz!  A very eccentric musician and personality.
Perfect Sound Forever - Great on-line zine devoted to experimental, underground rock, jazz, blues, etc.  In-depth interviews and articles.
ReR Recommended - Chris Cutler's lable/catalog.  The place to get Henry Cow and other related projects.
Soft Machine - Started in the late 60's underground psychedelic scene.  Came from the same scene that produced Pink Floyd.  Later became more of a fusion band.
Karlheinz Stockhausen - One of the most important and influential experimental musicians ever. Influenced others such as Can (Holgar Czukay and Irmin Schmidt were his students) and Miles Davis.
Sun Ra - One of the best jazzmen ever!   Free-jazz, big band, poetry, film, science-fiction. Was arguably was the innovator or both the free-jazz and the space-jazz movement.  Very thought-provoking music and a major influence on the band.
Tangerine Dream - Started out as an experimental rock band, ended up inventing techno and new age music.
Mc Coy Tyner - Excellent pianist, like lightening!  Coltrane sideman with few, if any, peers.
Joe Zawinul - Excellent fusion keyboardist.  Played with Miles Davis (he wrote "In a Silent Way"), founding member of the fusion group, Weather Report.
