~TERRI'S GIFT~

Terri is a recipient of a liver transplant.
She received her gift of life eight years ago,
at the age of thirteen
This page is dedicated to her poetry.

~THE GIFT OF LIFE~
The gift you give let's me wake and see the sun.
It let's me sleep at night and see the stars above.
It let's me wish apon those stars.
It let's me have joy each day in knowing I'm alive.
When there's no joy there's strength.
Strength in knowing I can make it.
It is my most favorite gift of all.
It is none other than the gift of life!

~My Angel~
When I was sick and in need
you gave me life.
Now you're forever a part of me.
For what ever I do,
you're only a thought away.
For where ever I go,
you'll be there.
When I'm scared and alone,
you're there to chase my fears away.
When I'm down and out,
you're there to cheer me up.
When I use poor judgment,
you're there to let me know about it.
When you visit me in my dreams,
I wake with a smile upon my face.
Life doesn't go by without you in it.
God only knows what you do for me.
You were there for me,
now I must be there for you
and live this beautiful life
that you've given me.
Though I only hope you'll know
how much you mean to me.
For I am not me without you.
For all that you give me,
I thank you heavenly angel.

~Chance~
A sad twist of fate and a miracle changed us.
Wonderful words you spoke gave way
for a foundation of a life time.
A chance to bring new beginning and new life.
Years you gave me pass faster than you know.
We intertwine as one, one life, one hope.
New life proves to be better than ever
and dreams you gave are now realized.
All I can do is say chance is
you are loved more than you'll ever know!

~Heaven Knows~
When you started out,
no one told you how life would be.
Had they did
you may not have believed them.
Life is but a short journey,
you better live it.
Heaven knows
you may not have a second chance.
As you go through this journey
you may wonder what it's worth.
You may even want to cry, but don't.
Heaven knows
you may not always be strong in what you do
and you want to give in, don't.
When life becomes hard
and you want to hide, don't fear.
Look inside and understand
that heaven knows what you go through.

~THE KEY~
Open the door to all that God has to offer.
You ask how,
I say the key shall show you the way.
Blinded by fear
it seems hard to have trust and believe.
You want to give up, I say DON'T!
This is when you need to look inside the most.
You say you can't,
I say this is the time to realize you can.
You say the race has ended,
I say it's only beginning.
You say you'll lose,
I say they're are no losers in the game of life,
just winners.
If you let it,
the key shall show you the way.
The heart is the true key to success.
Use the key to open the door
and keep these words in mind.
Once you do this you'll realize the power of your dreams
and have the power to make then real.

~Someone Like You~
I've been waiting for someone like you
There's no one who ever knew me like you.
The way you smiled, The way you laughed.
The way you were made me glad you were here.
Now you've gone so far away, I can't let you go.
There is no one that could ever take your place.
Even though we are far apart,
you are still in my heart.
I've been waiting for someone like you.
Someone to love, someone to trust.
Someone to show me life's worth living.
Now that I found you. I can't let you go.
I thank you for all that you've givin me.
I love you now and forever.
I've been waiting for someone like you.
There's not much to say now
that you're gone so far away.

I am warm and sweet
I wonder what tomorrow holds
I hear words of wisdom
I see a star
I want to wish
I am warm and sweet I pretend to be that star
I feel alive
I touch the hearts of others
I worry about tomorrow
I cry not knowing
I am warm and sweet
I understand the pain
I say everything will be okay
I dream of a different way
I try to understand
I hope to some day be that star
