The picture viz. represents a return to comedy for Even Odder after the relatively
solemn Strata. However, said comedy
is exceptionally wry and wrapped in a
package of stark minimalism.
The picture, which is incomplete and still partially
under wraps, draws some influence from the work of directors such
as Michelangelo
Antonioni, Yasujiro Ozu, and Jim Jarmusch, but its single most important reference is
the silent stasis of Taiwanese master of minimalism Tsai
Ming-Liang, meaning that it
is light years away from the relatively fast pace
of previous Even Odder projects.
