TENNESSEE TORNADO-DollyWood

The entrance is heavily themed.

The view from the station. Not a long ride, but that's the last thing on your mind after you're whipped through this concoction of twisted elements.

After a friendly thumbs up from the crew, you shoot through the transfer shed.

The lift takes you 160' right up the side of the mountain, before you plunge into a tunnel.

The tunnel reveals an impressive "loop-screw", which is huge compared to Arrow's normal 70 footers. There's just enough momentum as you float through and start to twist towards the pullout.

You encounter two of these inverted curves on the ride, and they are smooth as glass!

After two more high-G loops, you shoot through this final turn and fly up into the brakes.

Looping twister. Built 1999 by Arrow Dynamics

A MUST for any looping coaster fan! I can't say enough about this 1999 masterpiece. Before pioneering the 4D coaster (X at Magic Mountain), Arrow set out to design what would become their last standard looping coaster. They didn't just break away from their standard cookie-cutter track elements.....they shattered all prior designs by creating a custom twister that is attractive, forceful, and smooth as glass. From the great theming to the flawless performance, this steel giant has all the feel and speed you want in a looping coaster without the rough ride or carbon copy layout you see at every big park. This coaster is so re-ridable! It is worth the $40 admission alone, and gives a clear indication as to how Arrow progressed through the years. But don't forget Dolly's newest coaster (Thunderhead), as well as the great steam train ride, shows, restaurants, and shops!
