Skin Care

Taking Care Of Your Face:

Try and wash your face 3 times a day! And, make sure you get 8 hours of sleep a night!.

STEP ONE: Cleanse- You should use a cleanser that is made for your sking type. Don't know your skin type? Answer these questions to help you find out:

Is your face shiny with enlarged pores? Are you prone to blackheads and blemishes? Do you feel some tightness? If you answered yes to all of these, you have olily skin.
Do you have medium pores, smooth and even texture, good circulation, healty color, may tend toward dryness on the cheeks, and may be oily in the T-Zone? If yes, then you have combination/Normal skin.
Do you have thin, delicate, fine pores? Flushes easily, prone to broken capillaries, frequently allergic, can be rasy? If yes, than you hav sensitive skin.
Does your face fell tight, especially after cleansing; fine wrinkles, flaking, red patches? If yes, than you have dry skin.

STEP TWO: Tone-This is the masque you use. There are masques for each skin type and for each thing you could need it for. Or, you can even make your own masque with essential oils:

Use clay, ground oatmeal, or a clay base powder such as "Fuller's Earth". Add hot distilled water and blend into a paste. Add your chosen essential oils and blend well. Use 3 drops of essential oils to one teaspoon of base powder or 15 drops per cup of paste. Smooth the mis onto a cleansed face, avoiding the skin around the eyes, leave it to dry (about 10-15 minutes) and then wash off with tepid water. For a smoother consistency add plain yoghurt and for very dry or sensitive skin add some jojoba, sweet almond or vitamin E oil. For dry skin apply once a week; for oily skin, twice weekly.

The Oils:

Dry and mature skin: lavender, frankincense, geranium.

Oily skin: cypress, bergamot, juniper.

Normal skin: geranium, lavender, eucalyptus.

Acne: cypress, lemon, tea tree. ( I LOVE the smell of tea tree=o)

STEP THREE: Refine-This is the facial scrub. This gets down into your pores and really gets them clean.

STEP FOUR: Tone-this tone is different from the last, this is the tone you leave on under your moisturizer and makeup.

STEP FIVE:Moisturize-There are so many moistureizers to pick from. Pick the one that will work and help your skin the best.

Picture Day:

Everyone knows picture day is one of the most important days of the school year, and around that time we see more acne. Why? Because we worry so much more about this day. We want our hair, makeup, and everything else to look perfect, so we're stressed out more. Here are some things you can do to try to stop acne or clear up acne:

A week before pictures: use a scrub every other day, put on a skin clearing acne treatment like Neutrogena's Daily Face Lotion. This will help you clear up acne and help stop more acne from coming up.

The night before pictures: Do the above (even if you've already done that this week). And if you still have acne, put on some mint julep masque right on the zit, not all over your face, and leave it on over night. This will dry up your acne pimples. I love this stuff because it also helps shrink large pores. It really works!

*Tip:* You could do what Cindy Crawford does to keep her face ultra fresh. She does this by spritzing her face with a homemade mist of equal parts water and milk. She sprays whenever she needs a quick skin pick-me-up.
