Episode Four: The Loss Of Innocence

Reward Challenge-

Reward Challenge

“Tree Mail!” Cecely screamed to her tribe mates. They all gathered around her as she read the rhyme to them. In some of the lines of the rhyme, it read: “Shoot the arrows across the beach/ The target may be out of your reach.” These lines told the Matahari members that the reward challenge was an archery challenge. “I think that’s good,” Cecely said to them. “Archery is a relatively easy thing to do.”

The thirteen remaining Survivors met upon Challenge Beach and saw that set up from them was some sort of archery challenge. On the different sides of the beach there were two Bullseye targets, one for Matahari and one for Bulan. The remaining Survivors met the two hosts: Adam and Christopher and were told what the challenge was about. “This is a reward challenge,” Christopher told the castaways. “On each side of the beach are targets. Five members of each tribe will participate in this challenge. These five will alternate shooting arrows at the target. The first tribe to have five arrows wins the reward. The reward: fishing gear.” The tribes cheered and grew excited about the challenge and, ultimately, the reward.

Cole, Mick, Marco, Emily and Madison were the five playing the challenge for Bulan while Ruben, Cecely, Kyle, Babette and Olivia were the five playing the challenge for Matahari. Cole and Ruben were up first hitting for their tribes. Cole pulled back the string of the bow and shot the arrow through the air and drove it right into the target for Bulan. “Yes! I hit it like sex!” Cole exclaimed. Bulan hits one target. Ruben shot the arrow for Matahari, but it fell just short of the target (Bulan- 1 Hit; Matahari- 0 Hits). Mick and Cecely were up next. Cecely pulled back the string and shot the arrow, but it went just over the target. Mick didn’t have that problem though, he shot the arrow right into the target marking Bulan’s second point (Bulan-2 Hits; Matahari- 0 Hits).

Bulan began leading in the challenge as Kyle and Madison stepped up to plate. Madison shot the arrow slicing through the air and into the target as Kyle, like his other tribe mates failed to hit the target (Bulan- 3 Hits; Matahari- 0 Hits). “Damn, this sucks,” Babette said as she faced off against Marco. They both missed, as did Emily and Olivia (Bulan- 3 Hits; Matahari- 0 Hits). Cole and Ruben faced off once again. Cole sliced his arrow through the air and into the target marking four points for Bulan, while Ruben missed again (Bulan- 4 Hits; Matahari- 0 Hits). Cecely and Mick stepped up to the plate again. Mick missed, but Cecely hit the target marking Matahari’s first point (Bulan- 4 Hits; Matahari- 1 Hit). Kyle and Madison were the next two. Madison missed, Kyle hit. (Bulan- 4 Hits; Matahari- 2 Hits). “Yes, we’re on the comeback!” Babette screamed as she hit the target and Marco didn’t (Bulan- 4 Hits; Matahari- 3 Hits). Olivia and Emily were the next two. Bulan needed just one more point. Matahari needed two, that is until Olivia hit the target and Emily missed it.

Trinity in a confessional

Bulan and Matahari both had four hits, and the first tribe to get one more would win. It was an amazing comeback. Ruben and Cole were the last two to step up. Ruben, so far, had failed to hit a target while Cole had hit every one. Cole and Ruben pulled back their arrows at the same exact time and let go. Cole’s arrow sped through the air towards his target. However, it just missed the target. Ruben’s sped to his target and, though it seemed like a weak shot, Ruben’s arrow pierced the target and Matahari won the challenge. They cheered and screamed that they won a challenge again. Bulan walked back to camp.

Day Eleven:
A Hiking They Will Go
“Our tribe is really starting to get a long,” Trinity told the cameras, “so rather than splitting up and dividing the chores we decided to do everything together as a tribe. So, we went on a long hike to a spring to fetch water this morning, and I think that doing that made us all closer together.”

Bulan set up along the trail to go fetch water from the running spring which was about a half of a mile northwest of their camp. “We all had a great time,” Marco told the camera in a confessional. “I think that we’re really starting to come together, and they’re all really liking my jokes.” Camera pans to the Bulan tribe hiking up the trail. Marco pipes up to the others, “Yeah, so did you hear the story about the two pretzels? They were both walking down the street, one was assaulted.” The tribe laughed somewhat amused. “Get it, A SALTED?”

Cole said in a confessional, “I like Marco a lot but his jokes, rather his lame attempt at jokes, are getting on my nerves.”

The Bulan tribe reached the stream and started to get water. They all panned out to different sections of the stream and Trinity, remembering what Mick had said about a Final Four alliance between Madison, Cole, Emily and Madison, decided to talk to Emily about the alliance and tried to change the votes around. Trinity took Emily aside and said to her, “Emily, I need to talk to you about the Final Four alliance that you, Asher, Cole and Madison have.”

Shocked, Emily asked, “How did you know?

“Mick told us everything,” Trinity replied, “I guess he had a talk with Cole.”

Emily, in a tone that denotes anger and doubt of Cole, “So Cole told everything? Well I'm not sure how I'm voting as of now, so I’ll have to get back to you on that.”

“Listen girl, I know you don't actually like Cole, why are you acting like his pawn,” Trinity asked.

“Well he is very powerful, and I need this alliance to stay in the game,” Emily replied.

“But you, me, Marco and Mick could form an alliance and vote them all out.”

“I’m not sure,” Emily told Trinity. “It’s a reasonable offer, I’ll just have to think about it.”

In a confessional later in the day, Trinity mentioned “I think that Emily will do the right thing at Tribal Council because I know that she’s a girl that abides by morals.”
