Notes from the Registrar

TROOP REGISTRATION!

Troop registrations are available in April for the next fall. Consult your Service Unit calendar for the spring packet pick up date. Please make every effort to re-register your troop before the school year gegins, and make additions and changes to your troop in the fall.

New troops will receive their Troop Registration packets upon completion of Leader Training and after your application and references have been approved from council.

To re-register Your Troop:
* Have parents complete the registration form. Medical information needs to be completed each year.

Checks are made payable to Girl Scouts - Seal of Ohio Council.

* Leaders sort forms alphabetically, with girls in the front and leaders behind. KEEP THE PINK COPIES FOR TROOP REFERENCE. Verify that all forms are complete.

* Complete a Troop Dues Summary. Indicate that this a Troop, Re-registering, and Troop level. Don't forget to include the Ethnic/Race section. Verify all the money. Make sure your name is on the bottom.

* Paperclip the money on the top of the Membership Dues Summary. DO NOT STAPLE CHECKS to the registration forms. Place it all in an envelope.

* Turn in completed to the Service Unit Registrar.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT 2 ADULTS NEED TO REGISTER WITH EACH TROOP.

If you need any additional forms, please contact the Registrar. These forms are also available at the Service Unit meetings.

TROOP FINANCIAL REPORTS

Each Girl Scout Troop is required to submit a copy of the Troop Financial Report and current bank statement twice a year.

THEY ARE DUE JANUARY 1ST AND JUNE 1ST!

In order to sell cookies, your copy of the January 1st report muct be completed prior to Cookie Training.

In order to pick up your fall Troop Registration Packet, your copy of the June 1st report must be turned in.

Your Financial Report is an important responsibility.
It is the way you track all expenditure and all income.
It is your verification to parents and Council that you have spent money wisely.
All expenditures need to be included.

The Seal of Ohio Council requires that all troops have a bank account.
There are several banks in the area that have free checking. With an account, you can keep troop funds separate from personal funds. The bank statement provides an audit of your Troop Financial Reports.
You must staple a copy of your most recent bank statement to your Troop Financial Report.

Additional Troop Financial Reports are found online, in your leader packet or in the form box at the Service Unit Meeting.

Please contact the Service Unit Registrar if you have any questions.
